 Kiritsugu is simply a weak magus(just like SHirou is a weak magus but one of the best spellcasters) who was really skilled with weapons and hated that life, hence why he didn't teach Shirou properly. He never wanted Shirou to have that life.

 

Rins father on the other hand only cared about his bloodline because unlike Rin he is a strong magus but a weak spellcaster(like most of the family, Rin is the first time in her bloodline to be a powerful magus and spellcaster)

 

Anyone who has watched Zero has seen that of course.

 

Aye, and UBW as a working sequel and a show on itself, I find it quite important that the show portrays aspects like these which is why I am appreciating this show more and more.

Yeah, I'm definitely leaning towards Rin a character as the show progresses. So far Saber has had quite a small role and has barely given enough characterization on her part. Though same goes for Archer. Hopefully they both get some proper screen time to explore, but I won't hold it against the show if Saber is less frequent, we already had her as a focal character in two series.

If Shirou had the same number of circuits as Rin, he would simply be one oft he most powerful characters in the nasuverse. I doubt he would be on Ciels level but he would be extremely dangerous. SHirous weakness in combat is really his body as it can't keep up with his true potential.

Oh don't worry about Archer. Archer is one oft he biggest focuses in UBW, the next episode and on, you shall see more of him and his role. He's also important in HF, not the sameway as UBW of course.

Ciel is from the Tsukihime(part of the nasuverse) Ciel and Aoko both are the strongest characters in the nasuverse.

Nah, best Tsukhime is the one that will get her own route in the remake.

 

 

On the subject of Tsukhime, Ufotable should make an adaption of that too when they're done with Fate UBW and HF.

And the art is even worse than that of Fate since it was released a few years before that.

Rin was never trying to kill Shirou anyways. She's a very good bluffer but loses to her sentimental side. (I know what happens if Shirou loses that fight in the VN)

Fate is funny with it's art really. Sometimes it was amazing and other times it was scary. The improvements in the later versions are good though.

 

Tsukhime is well written, but it's art(CG, sprites ect) and lack of music half the time does hurt it though.

You're right, Tsukhime also ends up repeating because of that whereas Fate has some music dedicated specifically to some scenes (All the evils in the world, Emiya, The church on the hill, Light and darkness,..). 

 

But oh well the remake will hopefully end up fixing those things.

Réalta Nua+english patch and H-scene toggle patch(PC version of course) is pretty much the best version for Fate(which is what I have and what Sim and Chewin are playing) Has lots of new music that only play in certain scenes and new CGs.

 

But yeah, I hope Tsukhime gets some love later. It was good to see them in Caravel Phantasm but since that was a parody and fan service, it's not really the same.

As per usual the art/animation and soundtrack are all of highest caliber so nothing new to really mention there besides it's insanely impressive each week to get this kind of quality.

This weeks episode was just as the others of exceptional quality and really saturdays are more than usual the best day of the week when I can get this kind of treat. It was great to see Rin and Shirou test the waters a little with each other. The war is still young so it was as expected more of a skirmish than either of them actually wanting to end the other. Shirou is growing on me and if he keep at it I might even like the dude at some point and that's some solid progress if that happen. Rin was in Zero already a character that I liked and wanted to see more of so she's easily my favorite in UBW and she keep getting more and more remarkable by each episode. She's really skilled at what she does and the contrast between her and Shirou is really impressive to watch and just bring back memories from both Totomi and Kiritsugu and just how different they were and that it can be traced to Rin and Shirou. It's a nice little treat that add some extra awesome to the experience. The episode also finally made another servant get some screen time and with that we are bound to see a lot more things in the coming episodes. Hopefully some Archer goodness because he really deserve more than what he's been given up to this point but there're still plenty of time to give him so no worry there from me. 

 

Just sucks that the week is 7 days long now.. ah well saturday will come!
