On one hand, it's good to see her die but I don't like that they condensed the epic battle from the manga and changed the attack on Borrik big time(that attack did not happen until the next day after the battle with Seryu). It felt very rushed.

Akame Ga Kill

I can't possibly have any bigger smile on my face than I do now. I've been waiting, I've been wishing, I've been right about dreaming of this and with it now finally happening I'm completely thrilled.

Seryu Ubiquitous is dead. The monster is dead. She's finally dead. Sheele have been avenged and Chelsea is partially avenged aswell. Really this episode put focus on Mine who obviously is my favorite and getting to have a lot of her in an episode was very welcome and I'm really happy to see that Tatsumi and her can together become stronger and that blushing!

Tatsumi is really growing as a character and the way he not only dealt with the demon was brilliant but he also owed up to not being strong enough in the past by actually getting to Mine in time to save her. Remarkable progress from someone that not too long ago left his village to help it.

Interesting. To me, probably since I'm not a manga reader, it felt perfectly on pace. I bet they just want to be able to fit as much as possible into the anime before the season ends.

Was left conflicted by the recent Akame ga Kill episode.

The action elements were impressive to say the least, prominently with Mine which I found to be visually stunning and efficacious (perhaps the sharpest so far imo). The bickering between her and Tatsumi was certainly cute, and I like how their relationship seems to be proceeding gradually, since I was initially afraid it would immediately jump into a romance. 'Tis is good. 

 

Unfortunately that was the only factors I particularly enjoyed about this episode. The whole attack on the Priest was a convoluted mess and should have been postponed to an episode of itself. Tatsumi's fight was lackluster and used a repetitive motive of him being too weak, which have already been a driving factor in the show during most of his battles and should be dropped, even when it is accurate. He doesn't need to keep contemplating on it in a similar fashion and start being proactive about it. The last member of the Demon turned out to be just as bad as the rest, which whole reason in the show were unnecessary and terrible. 

 

These last few episodes I've found to be the weakest in the show. I get the feeling the show is rushing to a particular moment, so hopefully these last episodes will manage to pick up the show. I am getting the feeling this show might just stay good without managing to turn great, since it certainly has the potential for it.

 

So an OK episode. Mine kicking some serious ass was the highlight of it so glad at least it delivered on that aspect.

So after the great Akame episode I finally got to finish up Cowboy Bebop and it's been a great ride now when I get the chance to look back at certain events and episodes. The show introduced me to Ed and Ed's just so amazingly radical that I can't appreciate Ed enough. Faye, Spike and Jet are all very well develop characters and worked very well with the format they choose to tell their story. The artstyle really felt like coming home to the stuff that I watched oh so many years ago and that soundtrack! That soundtrack is just a gem in of itself. I can fully understand why Bebop is so well loved and why it's always mentioned when the best shows are talked about. It's great and a show that I could easily watch again.

In retrospect, all my excitement came from Mine's long overdue fight with Seryu. I agree with Lord Chewin that Tatsumi's fight and characterization was rather repetitive with him not being strong enough. I found it odd that the really damn strong Rakshasha woman suddenly couldn't protect herself from some falling rocks. That scene felt very off to me.

I'd give the episode an A based on Mine alone, but when you factor in Tatsumi and Night Raid's attack, it falls to a decent B.

Today is a day of conclusion, first this weeks Akame. Then finishing up Bebop and later today to finish Hellsing: Ultimate.

 

Got quite a few shows in mind when picking the next two to watch. Spice and Wolf, Nagi no Asakura, Shiki, Claymore, Hyouka and so many more. At least I got Bebop done so no longer do I need to check behind the curtain for assassins sent to kill me for my heathen ways of not having watch Bebop sooner.

Ho! A fellow economic student to be? This pleases me. Then the show will certainly be right up your alley, since it doesn't simplify its methods that it delve into and gives able exposition on its economical aspects (and the world on itself) to properly grasp it.
