Spice and Wolf is fracking brilliant and very mature about its... err, ecchi? I wouldn't even call it that since they don't make a big deal about it.

 

So Holo's first appearance is with her butt naked. But it's never really emphasised, she's naked because she's a wolf and has been for the last few hundred years. Lawrence doesn't really make a big deal about it either.
 

Obviously he's more concerned that SHE'S A FRACKING WOLF.

 

 

So it's very mature about romance and I'd say it's probably one of the better, if not, best romance you can find in anime.

 

I'm reading the Light novels.

God I love Holo's voice. That alone is fanservice for me.

And yes, Brina Palenica does a masteful job as a VA. Dub all the way.

Especially that damned Narwhale arc. How Lawrence got out of that one is amazing. It's great because the author never goes beyond what Lawrence can do as a peddler and a character. He doesn't suddenly become L Lawliet and pulls some amazing brainstorming; nor does he asspull some "contact" who's a Lord and can do y and x. The dude manages to resolve conflict within the bounds marked by his flaws and strengths.

 

Aye, Lawrence and Holo respectively are well rounded and established characters who both bring a distinctive role to the narrative, alongside the dynamic relationship between them is mature and well executed. It is certainly something one can appreciate.

To certain extent yes, but there is more to it than meets the eye. I initially had rather low impressions on the show, but changed my mind rather quickly when I experienced it.

I have also read the VN long before watching the UBW anime but there is still a difference between the VN and seeing it animated. 

And some battles look amazing in the UBW anime.

It's really amazing how captivating GitS:SAC can be. I've seen the whole series at least four times over already, but I still got hooked up for a mini-streak for several episodes because they just hooked me.

 

The standalone episodes aren't bad at all, but when the series takes to its core story, it really shows it's strenght.

Hellsing: Ultimate is an excellent action show with some really dark aspects but not without a sense of comedy and being entertaining in the mids of bodies getting mutilated in countless of ways. Can't say that I recall that many bodies that left the screen unharmed one way or another. Alucard is a rather solid lead character but would get boring if not complemented by other characters like Seras or a few other very notable characters. It was a mostly entertaining watch with some issues here and there but none that were too intrusive on the experience
