How does the source material compare to the TFS Abridged series?
Did complete Ultimate just a few hours ago so can't compare it to anything. Might be able to in a good few weeks/months/whenever

I'm more than certain that I'll very much come to like Spice and Wolf and that only took two episodes to realise. Rarely do I find the lead characters of a show this entertaining and interesting as Lawrence and Holo. They both really go excellent with one of my favorite traits which is being witty. Also the world feel very fresh compared to what I've seen really since the start but even more so since the last 3 shows have been GitS, Psycho-Pass and Hellsing. Really appreciating the difference right now!

I watched an anime back home before I moved when I was very young. I was happy to have finally found it.

Dat music. But the art style is creeping me out.
I fell in love with the song Magia by Kalafina thru Puella Magi Madoka Magica, but hearing it in its live form is something else, man
So since we're posting LisAni stuff, I assume everyone is aware of the news that ClariS is not actually disbanding, but is actually restarting with Clara and a new girl named Karen, correct? I have mixed feelings about this, but idk man, they sound pretty good together. Even if I think Karen has some room to improve. Here's to the inevitable reunion single sometime in the future.
This. The five battles I can't wait for in UBW and HF, in order is
VN spoilers

Also my five fav battles in the VN too
Yep I actually agree with that list. Those were all great battles. I'm afraid though that by the end a lot of people who only watched Zero and didn't read the VN will rage at the climax of UBW but we'll see.
I also remember Sparks Liner High in HF being pretty good. That battle combined with Mighty Wind.
That reminds me, now that we've seen the school duel between Shirou and Rin we're probably going to see one of my favorite Archer quotes either next episode or the episode after that.
Spoiler for the VN UBW route

Both are sexy.
So on the topic of Fate/Zero (which I'm rewatching and still absolutely loving), I was hoping somebody might help me understand something:
so there's seven servants, one of each class who participates in the Holy Grail War under the command of a separate Master. But how does it work out that one of each servant type is summoned without any duplicates? I ask because Kiritsugu seems 100% before summoning that King Arthur will be a Saber-class servant. On the other hand, when Tohsaka and Kariya summon Gilgamesh and Berserker respectively, both are surprised at the class options they choose to manifest as.
Basically, does the Holy Grail demand that there be one of each servant type or has that just been an extremely convenient occurrence? If Kiritsugu tried to summon Saber after someone else had already summoned a Saber-class servant, would she have been forced to materialize as a different class?

If somebody would have summoned a saber class servant before Kiri then Saber would have been a different class. Presumably the only class that is left at that point of the summoning.
I remember reading that Arturia can be summoned as a caster too so there is that.
Some servants can also only be summoned as certain classes.

If I ever saw Lunamaria Hawke come out of the shower, that would happen to me.
I love women who can pilot giant mechs like an ace!
Nope instead shes COMIN OUT THE FORUM POSTS!

Might go with either, Barakamon, Azumanga Daioh or Nagi no Asakura together with Spice and Wolf. Still a ton of other shows that I could go with like Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-Kun or whenever I want to have "feels" I still have AnoHana left.

But a show that can make this is very intriguing.

Barakamon certainly has moments that are very emotional, but it's much more subtle than an AnoHana or Nagi no Asukara. It's SoL from head to toe, so the emotion comes from the way it really brings out what people tend to overlook in their simple, daily lives (which is actually one of the major themes).
Nagi no Asukara is basically the culmination of PA Works' PA Worksness. It has all of the narrative elements and twists you'd expect from one of their series, but also has one of the most unique settings I've seen, and really good development for most of the cast. Expect ample suffering.
As for Nozaki, it's the best anime comedy in years. Period. There are no unlikable characters, no raunchy, crude humor, and no over reliance on the romantic aspect to keep you interested. And it's hilarious.
Keep in mind though that NagiAsu is as long as both Barakamon and Nozaki combined, in case length is a factor.
Good to know Ghost! Length is one of the reasons why I'm not too sure on what to watch at the moment so probably going with one of the shorter ones for now and pick NagiAsu for whenever I feel for a bit of a longer show. So either Barakamon or Nozaki! Not watched a SoL in ages and while it wasn't as long since a comedy it's still a decent while ago.
SO watched Shingeki no Bahamut.
Not impressed. Animation is slick, the art style good... but who the hell designed the main character? Yuck.
The way the story is told is fragmented, nothing is properly explained, and it feels like things just happen and are thrown at you...because.

I like how nonchalant she is during that scene. Zero f*cks given. Oh, and you've seen nothing yet. Need to continue with the VN myself, liked that it has more emphasis on worldbuilding--already had some questions answered that have been circling my mind.

I'm hoping that we get a Sparks Liner High ova for the movie or maybe combing a part of it during that fight in the movie since the movie will most likely do the True End.
Really though the fights in Stay night should in fact be more "epic" then the ones in Zero since all the servants in stay night but Rider(Stay Night Rider is very powerful though) are all stronger then the ones in Zero(in the case of Archer and Gil, they are roughly at the same level for many reasons .
Also that quote
That will be happening soon ![]()
