If sounding bored, over acting, trying too hard and failing to emote properly at key scenes sounds fine to you then all the power to you.

I dont think its any of those at all! His voice in the english dub is less whiny and dramatic and instead takes on this key of desperation. Its more emotionally mature than vocally dropping on the floor and kicking your feet.

Liking whiny characters(which is not even true as Ive complained about Eren alot) has nothing to do with that. In the manga and sub version, Eren whines alot, that is the character. Bryce failed to capture the character.

The anime didn't exactly capture manga Eren's character independent of dubs and subs, he's kind of a psycho in the anime.

And he's Princess Peach in the manga.

Ive read the manga..the fan translated manga. I dont read japanese, but from what I can tell, Eren isnt whiny. Hes intense. Remember that part in the first episode where he gives the Wall Garrison and Hannes a tongue-lashing for being drunk on the job before the Colossal titan invited itself in? That to me is Eren and is the closest he gets to "whining". Hes always pushing, and I saw that in the manga.
