^ For a first (maybe?), I agree with Soronnar.

edit: except I wouldn't call it "fun" per se.

I agree that Light was an evil a-hole who needed to die, but I don't agree about the plans.

What really gets me mad is that he would have won if Mikami was not an idiot. If Light had to lose, the lost should have come from his own hubris.

Dammit 'twas a good show now that I remind myself. Perfect nightmarish detective stuff.

I loved the show (I love Caska more, and Winri... mmmm together?) but I did not care for the end.

I like Revy, Haruko Haruhara, Re-l and Pino more.

Not to mention Misato, Ritsuko, Asuka and others from Evangelion. edit: + major Kusanagi.

Which leads me to a question. Who are your favorite and most memorable female characters?

Yin and Re-l Mayer?

Anyone got any good suggestion for some good horror manga? Recently read all the translated stories of Ito Junji and Dragon Head, and I'm craving for some more.

Ghost Hound was "horror audio led to perfection" as anime. Would sure enough recommend it. The manga would not work as well though.

Near would be replaced by Lao?

That's an idea.

I have a better idea: Lao could be Kira.

*Starts to feel intoxicated on his own power.*

Cue the maniacal laugh!!!!

I dunno about NEEDED to die, but he was a bastard.

As for the rest of that, I may not agree with you very often, but yes. That drove me insane. Light was way too far ahead for something like that to bring him down. The last episode of Death Note was just awful. The only thing I enjoyed about it was Kira's laugh. That was kinda awesome.

I'm not upset by Light losing. I'm more upset by Near coming out on top, with his annoying little smug face! D:<

Anyway, *sigh* I'd post in here more often, but honestly, with my crappy internet, I never get any shows done anymore. I've been reading Bakuman as slowly as possible, so as not to feel that void when you finish a manga, lol. I did finally start season 4 of ZnT though.

I agree with this part anyways. But Light would have made a wonderful benevolent dictator.

^ Guys like him will always slip, sooner or later. Often they take most of their prime competition out beforehand, and thus step in too deep (unto chaos).

edit: what I mean is that with all sorts of scheming, the card house will start falling apart, especially if it's advanced upwards after some main goal and relief is met.
Dammit, always the metaphors...
Let's say it this way: Light had it coming, both in that he deserved it, and that he couldn't possibly been able to avoid further and more critical difficulties. If he would have "become a dictator", he'd have lost his mind promptly. Same as in the end of the show. The reasons for that were gathered up intensities, of which the consequences are mostly not amendable and the process itself not reversable.

Not so, had Light come out on top, he would have abolished murder, crime, rape, war and famine. He also would have developed a love of ponies that would outshine all others.

I can see the paradise-like ponytopia now.

You need to get that fixed. I have always maintained that this thread benefits from more Logan.  :D

Aah, that reminds me, I never got to comment on your drawing of "create manga with me" (or what-it-was-called). It was more than a nice drawing. It was well done and genuinely likeable.

Still up to becoming a mangaka?

Thanks.

I may not be as far as Mashiro and Takagi were when they were only 14, but I'm practicing my drawing almost every day, and I'm working on three different stories.

So to answer your question, yes. I've got a long way to go of course, but nothing worth doing is easy right?

You're writing 3 different stories and drawing the pictures?

Well, I'm working on two stories if that's what you mean. The third story is a team project, and it's not going to be manga, so I wont be drawing anything for that one. I'm just helping with the story.

The other two, however, are both meant to be manga. I've got a few concept doodles lying around, and I've got a plot summary typed out, but I haven't started on a legit storyboard yet. Figured I needed more practice first.

That's really cool. I've actually been slacking off with writing the lore of my universe. I need to get back to it. I should probably expand on the concepts of other stories i have too.

Thanks. And I know what that's like. I've been pretty lazy lately. I've been using my drawing as an excuse, lol. To be fair though, I do need to get better before I can go any farther.

How's your story been going anyway? I haven't heard much from you since that one PM like forever ago.

At least you actually can draw! I have to rely solely on writing lore and details.

Well, I have written more since then. The main thing im doing now is writing the characters and key cities

Says you, haha. I don't think I'm that good as of now. It's okay though, I'm practicing, so I'll get better.

Characters are fun to make. It's probably my favorite part, not counting names... I hate making names. It's so hard, lol.

Yeah characters can be pretty tricky. You spend alot of time thinking on that part but after that. background info, appearances, and powers/abilities if any are extremely fun to make

I agree with eroeru 100% but you might be on to something... Light, and some other big name manga/anime characters do in fact love ponies.

@The character writing talk. That's one of my favorite things to do with writing. Characters big or small, I love making characters and then writing how they work, like how they look, what they believe, what they like, their endgames and of course romances(because I am cheesy like that).
