Aye, Rah summarized my thoughts on the episode (and the anime) quite well. Shame, started out good but these last few episodes have just plummeted in quality. I get the feeling like there aren't any real indication for a second season at all hence why they are simply rushing to where the manga is currently (from what I've gathered).

 

Yeah, don't care either for the anime anymore and gonna jump straight to the manga.

First I am going to say I liked that I got a serious reply from you to silly Aoi Hono clip I posted.

 

And yeah I agree mostly.

 

Obviously the Sazabi and Nu Gundam are way better than the original Gundam.

 

Tho sorry I forget my Gundam mecha lore here but can't you just give it newer better beam rifles and swords anyway? If so, sure the Mobile Suit itself would be out of date having weaker armor and slower speed. Yet put an average pilot who is a non-Newtype in a Sazabi vs an ace or even an average pilot who is a Newtype in the original Gundam and the fight could actually go either way.

 

And I forget this too since it has been years since I last watched CCA but the Sazabi was better than Nu Gundam right? I know they were pretty even anyway but I recall something was said about Nu Gundam not being ready or something along the lines of it being a bit weaker.

 

I just think in battles like this you can't really say the winner is always going to be the one with the better Mobile Suit. I mean this is just talking Gundam here. Well the good shows of Gundam anyway.

 

Those awful OP as f**K beam spam Mobile Suits from the Seed shows will win every time.

Oh and even tho this is more down to Earth outside of stuff like Newtype BS I still hate power level discussions in most cases and should add I don't really care that much about how strong or weak Mobile Suits really are so be happy I gave you a serious reply and didn't just post this.

 

 

I don't exactly remember how it works either. I think the beam saber and rifle draws power from the Mobile Suit's battery or a special battery pack. If that is the case then you'll reach a point to where the battery pack won't be compatible with the suit or the saber/rifle would put to much strain on the Mobile Suit's battery/power source. 

 

A non-newtype couldn't fully operate the Sazabi because of the Psycommu system and the funnels, I'd think that a non-newtype would also crash it, because of the mental strain it would put on the pilot due to the Psychoframe (I don't fully understand the Psychoframe magic nonsense, but that's how I'd see it go down based upon what I've seen). Have you seen Gundam Unicorn? There is a scene in the first episode where a non-newtype is piloting the Unicorn and he starts to get really dizzy and sick, he just couldn't handle it. 

 

On a side note: We've seen the original Gundam reach its peak, we've seen the best it can do through Amuro. At the end of Mobile Suit Gundam, the Gundam couldn't keep with Amuro's reaction times even with that new coating that the Earth Federation applied to it to make it faster.

 

I think that the Sazabi was stronger now that I've looked it and the Nu up on the Gundam Wiki. Sazabi has a stronger Power Output and Mass Acceleration, actually it seems to perform better than the Nu Gundam in almost every single category. They weren't that far apart in performance or potential seeing as how they were made with the same technology (Char leaked the Psychoframe to Amuro because he wanted a fair fight) all Amuro had to do was recreate what had already been created. As to whether or not the Nu Gundam was finished I don't know, Amuro was a huge techie and he made it himself, Amuro is the kind of person that would always keep improving it so it probably would never have been finished. 

 

I do know the Sazabi's beam saber burned out during the final battle, I think Char ended up using too much juice and that is what ended up costing him the battle.

 

I don't really care for the power level discussion either, although I do think that Tomino himself has stated that Judau Ashta is the most powerful newtype ever, the first opening to ZZ Gundam supports with the caveman to human to Amuro to Kamille to Judau scene, evolution. 

 

I'm actually a fan of the Zeon suits like the Zaku, Dom, Gelgoog and the Gouf. The Hyaku-Shiki and the Delta Plus are my absolute favorite Mobile Suits though. 

 

If you haven't seen Gundam Unicorn you should sit down and watch it, it sort of makes CCA better (god, I hated that movie and what it did to Char).

Anyhow, damn social life got in the way of me enjoying my damn anime in peace, so here is my take on yesterdays F/SN: UBW episode:

This was an interesting episode for sure, which primarily function was to serve as a build up and revelation regarding several narrative threads--not only plot but character wise as well.

 

Having Archer finally escape from his rooftop surveying and getting the chance to explore his personal outlook was certainly a welcome aspect, and one that I personally had been waiting to appear for quite awhile. Having a Servant's perspective of the War taken up is vital for the show, and I do enjoy Archer's cynical viewpoint on it, in addition to how his ideology differs from Shirou's in regards to Master / Servant relationships. What I liked about that particular scene was how it is not simply a conflict between harboring a belief of creating mutual beneficial relationships with Servants or to be viewed as a simple transient alliance and nothing more, but it also comes down to whether one sees the Servants as "real" humans or not. After all, Servants exist to be used as a means to an end, and seeing different people's viewpoints on the matter (both regarding Masters and Servants) is important. This is also one of the reason which is why I find Shirou's relationship with Saber (be it either romantically or not) interesting in regards to how he views her as an individual and the repercussions of what it might entail.

 

I'm pleased that the show displayed Shirou and Saber's relationship and how it is gradually growing. Especially liked that Shirou took the initiative after the conversation he had with Archer about Servant's motivation for the Grail and asked what she is pursuing and why. Naturally Saber is withholding her identity and goals, considering the events that occurred in Fate/Zero and I hope as the relationship keeps growing with Shirou, she will reveal more to him as she begins to trust him more and general view him differently as opposed to Kiritsugu. Additionally liked that Shirou is trying to improve himself however he can, be it either physically with Saber or mentally / magically with his Strengthening ability (which I am glad got some more exposition to its workings). 

 

I'm really enjoying what each major character brings to the table (Rin, Archer, Saber and Shirou) in regards to the narrative and the relationship they have with each other. Archer and Saber respectively have a solid, diverging ideology they are following and seeing how it correlates with Rin and Shirou respectively, who each have their own belief system as well but isn't as grounded and experienced as their Servant's, is intriguing to follow and is a nice change of narrative from Fate/Zero which featured adults who as well had a firm ideology that they fought for. Rin and Shirou aren't on the same level as their fathers, and are in a stage where it is being tested and can change as the War continues to unfold. This was something I wanted F/SN to explore and I love that it is following suite so far!

 

Next episode will be intriguing, and I am expecting some spectacular fight scenes. Can't wait!

You know when an Akame ga Kill episode is bad when the only thing you care about / find entertaining is the people talking about Tatsumi / Mine relationship. Seriously, WTF? This episode was a mess on so many fronts, Tatsumi's fight was again lackluster (basically every of his fights are) and Lubbock's death made me just puke on how bad it was.

 

Yeah, this anime was on my top 5 list for this year, but now I don't even want it in my list anymore. God, and I thought this show would by no means drop in quality, but seeing it drop this bad is just... mind bogglig.

I am disappointed that Koei still hasn't made the Sandrock playable in the Dynasty Warriors Gundam games, at least they finally added Deathscythe.

Combat certainty(and that really applies to all but Archer and Gil as that fight would extremely be even and not really one sided like say if Caster fought Bluebeard), but Iskander tops her in personality by far.

Even with Shinji as her master she would still win, I do think she would have some injuies but she would win. Now if it was Sakura... Good lord... I would feel sorry for him.

 

It's not just the servants either most of the masters are also much stronger then in zero, even strange ones like Shirou and Casters master are extremely dangerous in their own right because of either their potential and drive(Shirou) and the physical training and moral(casters master)

 

Really only Waver, Kotomine and Kiri really stand out as mage and spellcasting. Others where either horrible(bluebeards master) or just a mage pretending to be first rate when they are really third rate(Rins father)
