I watch whatever sounds interesting to me, regardless of its country of origin. This is merely a place to discuss more specific shows.

I can't warn someone against something I advocate.

Sure but I would have loved more development.

 

I mean coming to the idea of throwing giant asteroids at Earth and making nuclear winters on it to force that change is not an idea you get everyday.

ZZ needed him too.

He was originally going to be in ZZ, the second half of it specifically. You know that coup that Glemy launched against Haman? That was going to be Char's role   Tomino got the go ahead to make a Char movie and decided to use Char in CCA instead (I don't know why not both). But the reason that ZZ started out as a comedy was because they were still trying to figure out if they were going to use Char or not, they got serious with it when the found out they weren't. 

 

So many missed opportunities... they could have had some excellent dialogue when Char saw the Hyaku Shiki and the Gundam Mk II, just imagine him wondering if Emma was still alive and piloting it. Hell, they could have had him sense Judua and have him wondering if it was Kamille or Amuro piloting the ZZ. 

 

Sometimes I just want to call up Tomino and ask he why he thought that CCA was a good idea.

Char Aznable is his name (well, one of his four names) and he is awesome. You should watch Gundam, starting with Mobile Suit Gundam and follow up with Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, both shows are old (late 70's and early 80's respectively), but awesome, the English Dub is great too. Actually, the protagonist is voiced by Brad Swaile, the same guy who voiced Light Yagami in the English Dub of Death Note.

 

Char is so great a character that each different Gundam series has antagonists modeled after some of his traits, they have been dubbed "Char clones".
