It's great how the art can compliment the narrative with imagery and symbolism. Kind of like PMMM. I guess Shaft excel at that. Also, I've come to appreciate the fanservice as a way to lighten the mood. The show will never take itself 100% seriously, which I think is great because shows that take themselves too seriously often fail a lot at what their trying to do.

 

 

 

Indeed, the show certainly excels at that. I was expecting a dumb but fun anime (which it is quite often) but having it feature such well developed narrative threads in such a fashion that it does, took me by surprise for sure. Teach me not to underestimate anime and what it is capable of pulling. 

 

On an unrelated note; dafuq!? My brother has finished Gintama, Steins;Gate, Fate/Zero, Brotherhood and is currently on the last couple of episodes of Death Note, and all this in only a matter of few weeks. Talk about a marathon.

Speaking of Gundam, I´m reading The Origin manga and falling in love with Artesia. So is it true she barely appears after the original series?

Yes, she appears on a beach in Zeta Gundam and at the end of ZZ. That is it outside of Mobile Suit Gundam and Gundam: The Origin as far as I remember

I like him already! What a wonderful fellow, such a shame he's being kept "normal" and not inducted into the proper arts of crazy.
