Thing is, with how the anime has gone, it's unlikely it will get it's Brotherhood, and the mangaka will probably lose interest in the story because of it's reputation. The manga's already suffered from the anime with it's release dates and fluff chapters that don't progress the story.

Ah no, didn't mean it like we get a new anime down the line, I meant like that the anime goes into completely own direction (potentially ending the anime story completely with Episode 24) but the manga keeps on going (unless it will conclude as well but I haven't found anything hinting at that so hope that is not the case).

Okay! Warning though.

 

Death Note has a soft spot in my heart being the anime I lost my 'anime virginity' to. So I will always love it no matter what despite it having a very weak 'last arc' and other aspects I totally ignore due to my absolute bias.

 

It's really good. But don't expect the moral depth is claims to have. What you'll get out of it is one of the best cat and mouse games you'll find in anime though. And the only 'detective' anime that has ever satisfied me (being a big fan of Poirot and British Crime drama, I have high standards.)

 

Until episode 26.

 

Then it falls apart.

 

Big time.

 

But not so much that you'd drop the show, and at least the ending is great (well in my opinion. It differs.)

 

It's definitely worth the watch. If anything it's for L.

 

The man I fell in love with the moment he appeared. Of course, Yang Wenli has since replaced him, but I will never forget my first love of a single letter.

Personally I would be pretty much content with it were that to be the case. Without that much thought put into it, having basically the Revolutionary Army win the conflict, but having every major character die except Tatsumi would be OK in my book.

 

The thing is, so far every single death within Night Raid has had an underlying influence and development on Tatsumi's nature and character in general, in one way or another. Despite being told directly about their job, he has a very naive viewpoint on the world and largely comprehends through actions rather than words. Schere's death was what cemented his view on Night Raid's work as assassins and that they aren't playing some kind of game. Bolat bolstered Tatsumi's determination to get stronger both mentally and physically. Chelsea was rather minor, but it further served as a reminder for Tatsumi the threat of Jaeger and that unnecessary deaths and fighting will continue if they don't act. I stopped watching after Lubbock's death, and it didn't have anything considerable during that particular episode, but I could see this playing a role with Tatsumi's relationship with Mine--whether it is something that he should come out and confess his feelings to or pursue them at all due to their profession. 

 

So I could personally go with a bittersweet ending, and having basically the closing act Tatsumi leaving the capital on the same road as he the first time got to the city in the opening scene, changed by the events that he got himself involved with, being a radically different person that he was when he arrived.

GitS would make a great setting for a conspiracy/detective themed game, not unlike Deus Ex.

Alternatively, you could make a point&click crime adventure/VN with it, thanks to its strong characters and focus on story and details.

This show is amazing...I see why you guys wanted me to stick with it for at least 4 episodes. I am posting this after watching said episode..What a ride from start to finish. Its charming and brutal wrapped up in a cute, unassuming pink bow, but only when you look closer do you realize that the bow is actually red from the blood of dead children and the thing its wrapping up is your inevitable death.

 

Madoka Magica...I wouldve ignored it if it wasnt for you guys.

I don't know if by shooter these guys mean 'FPS' or something else entirely. It's really vague. You could call Mass Effect or Deus Ex a 'shooter' based on those terms.

 

It's just the online which is the searing pain in my ass.
