There are numerical approximations given by the manga to indicate just exactly how efficient one would be at using aura abilities that one is not born into. Starting at one's own aura type, one has the potential to be 100% efficient at using abilities based in that category alone. Then looking at the category chart (see up), one has the potential to be 80% efficient at using aura types adjacent to your primary type, 40% efficient at the opposite or farthest category, and 60% efficient in the two remaining categories. Specialization is typically unusable for non-Specialists because it is impossible to partially use; one either can or can't use Specialist abilities. However, Conjurers and Manipulators have 1% efficiency potential for Specialization due to being adjacent to it.

Hisoka's personality test says Conjurers are typically high-strung.They are often on guard as to be overly cautious. They are very observant and rarely fall into the traps. Being able to analyze things calmly is the strength of the materialization of users.

Now on to what you can do.

Conjuration is the ability to create a physical, independent, material object out of one's aura. Once a person has mastered the conjuration of a certain object, they can conjure it and dispel it in an instant, whenever they want. Conjuration is the only way in which Nen can create things that ordinary people (unaware of Nen) can see and touch. Furthermore, objects or entities created by this technique have a subtle "independence" to them. This means that they can continue existing even if they were at a considerable distance from the Conjurer, or even if the Conjurer themselves are not aware that they have yet to be de-materialized. However the use of In can hide an object materialized from aura from experienced users of Nen.

Conjured objects can have special abilities imbued into them. For example, the Phantom Troupe bandit, Shizuku, is able to conjure a vacuum cleaner that can infinitely suck up objects, but with the condition that it can't suck up living things. Similar to Manipulation, Conjuration abilities tend to be very specific, complex, and conditional. Conditions can be imbued into conjured objects to make them stronger. Kortopi, for example, is able to materialize a perfect copy of any non-living object that he touches. However, the copies of all objects generated will automatically disappear after 24 hours.

You can still become a Specialist just like Kurapika did, but most likely later in life.

Anyway you want to know what my ability would be? My ability would be to shunt aside all of my target's attacks to a certain direction, so that he, she or it could only attack towards its left or right. The restriction I would place on my ability is that I could only ever use the right side of my body to manipulate the object in question, and if I take a single step with my left foot while manipulating, the manipulatee will gain control of the left half of me.

It's more of a "super powers" type test than a personalty test, it just so happens Nen has a lot to do with a person's personalty.

Actually, the few episodes I've seen of Hunter X Hunter, I've sympathized with Kurapika the most.

But don't know anything about Nen myself.

An affinity for Transmutation means a person can change the properties of their aura to mimic something else. Similar to Emission, things created via Transmutation are pure aura. Transmutation is often mistaken with Conjuration due to their similarities. A simple way of thinking about it would be that Transmutation allows your aura to mimic properties of a substance, whereas Conjuration allows you to change your aura into actual substances.

Well it's like what I said to eroeru. Conjuration can do lots of cool stuff, but it's almost never the best thng for a fight.

Kite's Nen ability is called "Crazy Slots" and allows him to conjure some weapons with a clown affixed to it. A roulette appears on the clown's tongue with numbers 1 to 9, each corresponding to a specific weapon. Whatever number randomly appears, the weapon that corresponds with that number appears. This means that Kite cannot choose what weapon he wants to use; he did this in order to increase the power of the individual weapons by making a Contract prohibiting selection by choice. The weapon drawn will not disappear until used. The clown on Crazy Slots can also talk and comment on Kite's actions and mood, to his chagrin. Only three of his weapons are shown in the manga: a scythe, a rifle, and a mace.

That is a high-level Conjurer power, it's even good for fighting. But it was made thanks to Kite's personalty and a Contract.

But you can never make something like a sword that can cut anything. You can conjure a sowrd simply with a durable sharp blade... But you might as well buy yourself an actual, high-quality sword, no training involved. Though you can't make it appear and disappear at will.

Knov is a conjurer with a teleportation ability called "Hide and Seek". By touching a flat surface, like a wall or the ground, Knov can set and open a portal leading to an artificial Nen dimension—a four level mansion containing twenty-one rooms of various sizes. Each portal is linked to a specific room, with the maximum number of entrances being dependent on the size of the room , with each room being completely separate from the other rooms. Normally each entrance can only lead back to the portal Knov created for it, however, Knov can use a master key to connect any room exit to any previously set portal. When not in active use by Knov, the portals are closed and impossible to detect.

So with something like that you could be a good infiltrator.

You know... Basic shonen main characters like Bakuman's main characters or Luffy. You are a big dreamer and a good person, most Enhancers are.
