I'd recommend Monogatari. All the arcs in it are seriously great! Top-notch in anime quality, if ya ask me.

Screw "Fury", Hollywood can keep its silly "Murica F*** Yeah" WW2 epics, what the world needs is more schoolgirls with tanks!

Lot of Kawaii people on here. lel
Damn, that gif is to fricking cute.
Not as cute as Madoka's cure for cancer.

You could end wars with that hug.
You don't watch GuP for being a good anime. You watch GuP because you're a WW2/Tank geek, because schoolgirls are driving those accurately depicted tanks with historically/militarily correct formations, because of its music and because nitro-boost Tiger tank:
Can't wait for a season two with more modern tanks, say Cold War era and then possibly a third season with latest generation MBTs.
Screw "Fury", Hollywood can keep its silly "Murica F*** Yeah" WW2 epics, what the world needs is more schoolgirls with tanks!
Tank porn then?
Awesome.
In addition to all that GuP share some very valid questions and words of wisdom
Morning is a punishment from our overlord Geth-sama.
Pretty good. Got a raise today. This calls for a Sayaka gif!
how about you?
'bout time you get a raise.
Seriously.
Will never forget that you took like 2 days off the entire year.
God(oka) that's tough.
Done with the second season of Spice and Wolf and I do prefer it over the first season on that mostly comes from the second season having a few more interesting scenarios and events in it than the first. The interactions between Lawrence and Holo naturally take this series forward and really could work as the sole reason to watch the show. That said it's good that the economical side get to shine every now and then and that in turn allow the characters to grow and new events and scenarios become possible.
Will decide on what to watch.. tomorrow because heck if I know if I'm actually awake or not at this point
The scenario that took like 6 episodes long or something really made me smile in the end.
Freaking Kyoko....
'dat side boob tho'

I second this.
It's fun fluff when it wants to be, but all the arcs are centred around great characterisation and development. You just have to get used to the shaft style weird-ass art.
Which is great, btw.
Just needs getting used to.

Monogatari I just know I'll love. Loved Bakemonogatari and Nisemonogatari aswell.. probably thanks to it being "special"
I'll see if I can find a shorter show before but if not it's going to be Monogatari, it's been a long time coming now!
A short show would.. maybe let me watch "you know what" a bit more ![]()

Funny since you can learn far more from shows like GuP then many other animes. It uses real tanks and gives a whole ton of information about those tanks, and the strategies that were used in warfare with those tanks.I can feel some of my brain cells dying already...
@Sim
I like to make money. When I was younger I'd miss school and work on a regular bases. Right now I think about the amount I'd lose in a day and most of the time it just doesn't feel worth it. The other thing is I get a mandatory 12 days off at the end of the year, so there is some light at the end of that tunnel.

Anything in particular that left you wondering? Would be happy to explain the economical aspects and workings, since they can be a bit tricky to grasp. We can exchange through PMs.

Congrats on your promotion! It is always joyous occasion to see your hard work get rewarded. And have to agree on liking to make money. B/c the key to life is not to love anybody.

Ty! Technically I'm still in training for what I'm doing (glass tempering if anyone actually cares) but they decided to bump up the position anyways. It actually happened 3 months ago, but it finally just went through today. It also means I'm about to get backpayed for those 3 months so...
Blah I don't work in a cubicle.. I could get a gold plated hard hat though haha.
And g'morning Mr. Statham (or afternoon depending on where you are)

I'm tempted to ask you about a few things in the novels.
Like currency wars.
They do good job at explaining things but sometimes it flies over my head.
LAWRENCE, CALM DOWN!
Also, I don't know if you've gotten there yet, but there was a part in the Narwhale arc that still puzzles me. It was a sort of mystery behind crates of gold and what-not.
Most of it I get though, like I said, they explain it really well in the books.

Are you referring to currency devaluation in general, or a specific event within the novels? If the former, I am sure you'll find very thorough articles on the subject by googling it. Don't recall there being direct usage of currency war within the novels, other than Lawrence passing in mention that it is a method that has been used between nations, and conflicts have been won through this method (which applies to our history as well). Of course, the novels don't go into detail how, but it isn't particularly needed either since it is what the term means--that two nations competed in devaluing their currency by reducing its intrinsic value. I do love how the novels points this out.
I'm only at Book 7, so the issue with the crates of gold hasn't yet developed, other than the crates being used as method to smuggle gold and using crates as a numerical method to count the quantity of gold inside (which is a more favorable approach then using bags).
The novels indeed do a capable job in explaining its economical dealings, but certain aspects may require one to have more than general knowledge within the area. I would be more than surprised if someone accurately depicted the event with Amati in Season 2 without a problem.

Tempering is basically heating something up to make it stronger, kind of like what blacksmiths do with iron and such, except with glass. A tempered piece of glass you can pretty much throw on the ground and it likely won't break unless it hits a corner or something. You can tell if a piece is tempered by how to breaks (a tempered one will blow into a thousand pieces when it breaks, a non tempered one will just kind of break into a few into larger pieces)
Most of our work comes from construction companies. So like windows, glass doors, tabletops, railing and whatnot. Some of it is quite heavy (youll get panels that are like 40 inches by 120 inches and 10-12MM thick) and you have to be insanely careful lifting it for obvious reasons. Half my job is lifting the other half is maintaining the temperer which is a giant furnace that spreads across one wall of the entire shop (15-20 long meters give or take) probably the biggest part about the job is using the program to control the temperer. There's tons and tons of **** you need to know. There's about 100 different parts and sections that are controlled by the program and if you get even 1 number wrong then basically whatever you put in is going to break, and the fun part is that most of it changes depending on the glass you put in.. And we do many, many, many different types of glass so its a ton to know.. Anyways I'll quit boring y'all with the details but it certainly keeps me busy and in good shape and its moderately decent paying too so yeah, its decent overall.
Sayaka gif for relevance!

Lawrence mentions it again later on. I THINK (because these books are being read reeaaallly slowly on my part) there is an arc with a currency war involved involving the Church and local farmers.
The intrigue in these books is awesome btw (but you should already know that.)
But yeah, when Lawrence mentioned it I thought "awesome, conflicts have been one through currency alone." Then I did google it up but was bombarded with four billions words at size 8 font.
As much as I thought it fascinating, you wouldn't get me reading those articles at all xD

Yep. That's the one.
Though to be fair, we have a good relationship with Morocco now. A lot better than our relationship with Spain.
But Spain atm is not at its best at all :-/

It's only complex if you look at the machine as a whole, but another way to look at it is it's just a ton of very simple processes working together in unison.
It can be hard remember all the numbers to input into the system though since you have like 20 different types of glass to do depending on thickness and/or patterns.
I like the physical aspect, keeps me from having to go to the gym. The only part that can suck is that depending on the thickness of the glass you might be running back and forth to get pieces on in time for the thinner glass since it goes so quickly, or with the thicker pieces you could end up waiting 5-30 minutes for it to come out (it gets boring fast, hence why I can be on my phone so much during the day some work days)

Now I have this image of you as a 6 foot dude with glasses and arms the size of trunks running around with glass and occasionally squeeing at Sayaka gifs on his phone xD
But yeah, physical work I detest.
Hell, what am I saying? I detest anything that involves me working.
But seriously though, it would kill me. Not that it's hard or anything. Like I said, I'm a gym-nut so I can lift heavy stuff. But for some reason, it exhausts me mentally.
Maybe it's just because I do removals. Which are tedious and boring as f*ck. Up and down up and down up and down up and down -.-
But when I worked in the zoo this summer I found it tedious as hell too. Ironically, the physical parts is what I liked.
Jesus I'm a mixed bag of different kinds of f*cks ><
