You *could* try something like Chrome Shelled Regios though.
(yet it doesn't give that serious or adventury a feel)

Wow. I hadn't thought of that nor looked it up. Thanks! Gave a lot of insight.
@spirosz
You could try Makoto Shinkai's films. The last one was really a homage to Miyazaki-type films, and previous ones hold their own as well. Also, Goro Miyazaki, the son of the more famous Miyazaki did movies that are pretty good and reminiscent.
+ an interesting one with a similar easy-watching feel is The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.
Otherwise, I'd vouch for other classics.
First and foremost, go see Ghost in the Shell (1995 original movie).
Rurouni Kenshin (otherwise known as Samurai X) and Ninja Scrolls fit under classics well. And so does, for example, Cowboy Bebop.
Thanks! I've seen Ghost in the Shell, loved that one. I'll do some research and see what happens

Also I'd recommend Legend of Escaflowne, all of Satoshi Kon's work (you could start off with Millenium Actress maybe), Ghost Hound, Ergo Proxy, Honey and Clover, Nodame Cantabile, Noein, Tatami Galaxy, FLCL, Death Note and Baccano! (wow, this list is rather a list of my favorites I guess).
+ Hunter X Hunter. I haven't seen it much, but it does seem great, if you can get some of the background and compare it to other shonen.

Samurai 7 I've been watching on Toonami. I dunno how I feel about that show. It's kinda strange to me. Not like in a bad way. I just dunno what to think of it. Same with Casshern Sins.
Hmmm... Seems strange that there's not more stuff like that. I always thought Final Fantasy and stuff like that were the "popular but predictable" Japanese games.

The list I did was for spirosz. (in case you read me wrong)
(though I now see you referred to Geth's list, right?)
Have you seen Advent Children?

The movie sucks, Watchmen was made only to be a comic. Here comes a bit more copy and paste magic...RAGING_BULL wrote...

What are some stories ( games, anime, shows, movies, ) that does deconstruction well in your opinion?
No but i saw some of the movie. Enlighten me=]
Alan Moore used the story as a means to reflect contemporary anxieties and to critique the superhero concept. Watchmen depicts an alternate history where superheroes emerged in the 1940s and 1960s, helping the United States to win the Vietnam War. The country is edging towards a nuclear war with the Soviet Union, freelance costumed vigilantes have been outlawed and most former superheroes are in retirement or working for the government. The story focuses on the personal development and struggles of the protagonists as an investigation into the murder of a government sponsored superhero pulls them out of retirement, and eventually leads them to confront a plot that would stave off nuclear war by killing millions of people.
Creatively, the focus of Watchmen is on its structure. Gibbons used a nine-panel grid layout throughout the series and added recurring symbols such as a blood-stained smiley face. All but the last issue feature supplemental fictional documents that add to the series' backstory, and the narrative is intertwined with that of another story, a fictional pirate comic titled Tales of the Black Freighter, which one of the characters reads. Structured as a nonlinear narrative, the story skips through space, time and plot. Watchmen has received critical acclaim both in the comics and mainstream press, and is regarded by critics as a seminal text of the comics medium.
And here is Alan Moore's quote on the basis for Watchmen.
"I suppose I was just thinking, 'That'd be a good way to start a comic book: have a famous super-hero found dead.' As the mystery unraveled, we would be led deeper and deeper into the real heart of this super-hero's world, and show a reality that was very different to the general public image of the super-hero."
So yeah, you should go buy the book like now...
Apparently Neon Genesis Evangelion is a HUGE deconstruction of alot of things. Mainly the robot genre, character archetypes, and psychlogical themes. I'm gonna bookmark that.

I'm not a fan of the drawings from back then. I dunno. I VERY MUCH prefer the shiny new animations.
That's just me. I really don't do older stuff.

The artwork is fine. I never said anything different. I said that I don't like it. It doesn't suit my tastes. Art isn't something that everyone will share the same opinion on. Personally, I don't like it at all. That doesn't mean it's bad. I just don't like it.

I think it's rather a post-modernist piece that just happens to follow some of the seeming "huge robot show" tropes.
It doesn't take the Gundams or whatever as a starting-point, that's for sure.

There are more well-learned and expert opinions. It isn't all subjective.
That aside, in manga or anime it's pretty much a matter of taste.
Though I'd still recommend to try being tolerant, you could at one point notice some value in it (I think one's preferences will change, the ones you feel more strongly about the most).
