@Chewin
SpoilerI don't know whether to call it selfless or selfish. Yang's rebellion that is. Seeing as he could live under Reinhard's rule until the end of his lifetime in relative peace, despite his predictions, he did not have to go through with it (if we don't include the Government's paranoia.) So, was it liberation for future generations, or something he deeply believed in and would fight for it? Remember that Yang detests taking lives, so would he do it for a idealistic cause?
Perhaps it was a bit of both, which is what I like to believe. Nobody is completely 100% and Yang is no exception.
But yes, he's right on the money there, which is why I lean more towards Yang. Reinhard's policy is great and all, but few men could have the power Reinhard wields and not be corrupted by it.
There was at least ONE occasion where Yang would've won, and it's there where his flaw stands out the most. That battle where he could have destroyed everything that kept the Empire together in a single blow.
But during that battle, I think, even having beaten Reinhard (if he had gone with it) the Empire as Reinhard wanted it would not simply collapse (since Reinhard made it a point to surround himself with competent men) and Yang was thick in it. He would've died methinks, if he had not withdrawn, but it was not the reason Yang did it in the first place.
