Aaaand something else to my backlog of anime I need to watch in my lifetime.

I think you should bump it up the list, in a lot of ways I'd call it the Robot Chicken of anime except instead of being mostly misses and a few hits, it's all hits. 

 

The main character is actually the most boring, so they remove him from the anime without any acknowledgement of his absence.

He ends up popping back in towards the end of the show and questions why he hasn't been shown in any footage and the other characters basically tell him that he got removed from the show for being boring

 

 

The show has lots of reoccurring gags and is just awesome, all the characters are important in some way and you even get to see some of the lives of the side characters.

 

Also, the show opens with Gundams and has some Dragon's Quest references because Sunrise and Sony made it together.

You're a big fan of duality, and if you'll love anything about LOTGH, it's the duality between Yang and Reinhard.

Probably a safe bet. It is arguably the one theme that will pretty much make me gush hard in any show and I've heard a couple minor tidbits of the exchanges between the two that certainly do intrigue me.

It does sound great and that scene did amuse me but I still have so many things to watch at this very moment.

 

It's not that I was trying to imply that I didn't want to watch it when I said that I'd put in on my list for anime to watch in my life, it's just that I have a lof ot anime to watch right now.

Yeah, from what I know FMA is a hell of a lot sadder than FMAB.

 

Also, I gotta give it to them on how they handled the Homunculi (which is a lot different to how Arakawa handled them.) Too bad DoC isn't here, because he prefers FMA over FMAB and was pretty good at telling you why. Chris (I think) prefers FMAB and is pretty good at telling you why also.

 

I'm placing my bets that Chewin will prefer... err... I don't really know >< FMA is a lot more bitter whilst FMAB has the "good ending" thing going on. That would make it weaker in my books if the ending wasn't so damn fitting and if they didn't fight REAALLLY f*cking hard to earn it. The last arc is essentially the entire finale (10+ episodes btw) which reminds so much me of LOTR because EVERYBODY is fighting, Himoru doesn't forget characters and conveniently have them appear later on, no, it's everybody doing their part and that's what makes it so damn awesome.

 

If I do watch FMA, it'll be years in the future where I don't watch anime that often anymore and have forgotten just a little at how FMAB went. But that seems impossible now seeing how much I f*cking love it.

 

But hey, I used to watch LOTR religiously before and now I only watch it like once or twice a year.

 

They are pretty f*cking long movies though xD

My very simple recollection was that like eps 1-25 or so FMA was more fun, 26-60 (or w/e FMAB ended on) FMAB was more fun. Specifically I missed Olivier, the other Homunculi, and the ending of FMA:B, but the kind of pacing, direction, music, and certain thematic moments established in FMA. So... something like that.

 

Basically (I guess your not there yet) but Briggs (which was a nify creation) and everything after it's a bummer they didn't get to all that in the original.

 

There was a scene in FMA though I kept waiting for in B that never got, it was where the two brothers decided they were going to fight to get better and the music starts playing and it was all very swell.

 

I am bad at lists.

 

I'll conjure up another! I have like 2-3 now... at least, it's always so tempting.

 

As for Death Note... thing is...

They're all kind of just... not really putting the pieces together at all pretty quickly. Light immediately just has no plan at all, then like only Japan is somehow involved, and then they have this ace investigator who somehow needs to sacrifice like hundreds of lives and tons of time to fail in the end at catching the guy... it's like uh...

I mean the whole Misa capture/interrogation thing was just like uh... he's Kira guy... he's Kira.

Yeah I stuck around for that. I'd say it's average or decent on feels. Hard to say since I might feel a bit extra on a few scenes due to knowing the LN from before. Suppose it's the amount of feels one could expected from an arc like Mother's Rosario. It's at least my favorite arc outside of Aincrad so they are doing more things right than not!

After the dry spell that was up until Caliber and really Mother's Rosario arc each scene with Asuna really just feel like a relief. That and I'm kinda fond of Yuuki and that's going to cause me issues.. again.
