I just finished Eureka Seven last night.. Now I'm all depressed. Like I'm happy how it ended, but I'm sad that it ended. I'm really debating on whether or not I want to watch Ao. On one hand, I want more of Eureka. On the other hand, I heard it ruins the happy ending of the first series.. Ugh. This sadness needs go away though!
I get this way anytime I finish something good with characters I grow attached to. Solution: find another good engaging show to watch to fill the void!
That's how I've dealt with it aswell. Sure there are some shows that leave a void that require a bit extra but that's rare. Always looking forward to the next show!

Unless you plan on never watching the movie (which would be a shame, since personally it's my favorite Miyazaki movie), I'd recommend watching it before starting the manga.
Because if you read the manga first and then watch the movie, all you'll be able to focus on while watching is everything that's different/missing. The movie only covers the first volume plus around half of the second one. And there are some major differences too. You'll have a really hard time appreciating the movie for what it is if you read the manga first.
Though if you're going for just one or the other, then yeah just read the manga. It's the better/complete version.

I sure hope so, I like Fuko, Kyou, and Tomoyo a lot, I hope they get really nice endings.
Actually, I'm sort of praying for Sunohara + Tomoyo as a couple, so maybe that wouldn't be such a nice ending for Tomoyo 
To me Kyou's sister, Ryou, seems quite a bit like Ichinose in terms of personality minus the extremely smart thing and has such a minor role that I feel like the two characters should have just been merged.

HOPEFULLY, the remake (which is APPARENTLY going to be more accurate to the novels) will do better with that arc. My most cynical side tells me it was done just to get some more battles in before the end. However, the writing is just too good overall for me to think they "just got lazy." So I like to stick with my more positive side and say they ran out of budget or something.
110 episodes of OVAs is really impressive after all. ESPECIALLY with some of the battles in there that are amazing.

Even though I'm a Tolkien purist, I still get along with the movies really well, but I know what it feels like when a movie changes/skips a part you like.
(I'll never forgive PJ for that Witch King vs Gandalf scene. Tolkien was the original shounen master with his battles. And it's hilarious because he probably never intended for them to be so epic.)
So yeah, if I do get the manga first will watch the movie first. It's always the better option, after all, only a fool reads LOTR right before watching the movies xD (unless the love both like me anyhow.)
