SAO is sexist otaku BS.
KLK is awesome.
Exactly.

honestly... pretty much >_>
And once you get inside it's like 50 vendors, and 90% of them are just selling the same SnK merch..
Last Otakon turn out.

Yeah that **** drives me nuts for some reason. I know I should enjoy it but it just takes away from the story for me. Stuff like that is the main reason I can't bring myself to watch it.
I was admittedly fine with it in KLK though cause it sort of fit the tone of the show well... *shrugs*
Yeah. That's a bit of a problem, and the sexual assault. Not like the times Kirito accidentally cops a feel.
But like...Yeah...Fairy Dance and Gun Gale have their moments where it happens, and it's really uncomfortable.

Very true.
But like I said. I'm weak to Asuna.

AoT merch has gone a little overboard...
Because it's the 2nd highest selling manga right now.
I just checked the stats. First year I ever went had about 700 people, this last year had 7,787

I must say it felt like the novelty wore off really past. I think the thing I'd want to see more of is like originally inspired... anything. It's like there's so much fan art... might as well make like a spiritual successor to Madoka or something.
I guess I don't really understand why anime only exists in Japan... I'm sure there are people with similar ideas or thematic elements but isn't Japanese..

It put me off the series just a bit tbh. I go to the convention in the hopes of seeing a whole bunch of cool neat stuff. Not to see 50 vendors selling the same freaking things for 1 series.
But yeah at least the artist section was decent.
Madoka was a very good show.
The kind that anyone can call their favorite show.
Those kinds are rare.
Good luck seeing something like that again anytime soon.

The opposite with me.
It's because of the fanbase I checked it out. Which ultimately lead to me watching Anime again.
Without it, we wouldn't be having this discussion.
So that's an upside at least.

Or just more Madoka!

The lack of Madoka merch was the biggest downfall for me, also the fact there was literally nothing for Shin Sekai Yori or Chihayafuru ![]()
And Madoka felt more like western writing to me but whatever.

My issue is I've been down this road of popularized ongoing series before... Oh I still remember being in heaven back when I was younger and all they had was Naruto and Bleach merch, but then I looked what those turned into and it makes me worry for SnK.
I honestly like the show a lot, but the popularity will and already has effected it more then it should.

It certainly hit a sweet spot. That's for sure.
Some series wear popularity fine.
Some don't
SAO sure doesn't. It's fanbase like it unironically. Which is really weird.

Seriously. I wish Asuna was from something better.

The creator already said he changed the ending to the series based on it, which has me a bit worried.
On the plus side at least he has an ending. Back when Naruto and Bleach were starting to get popular it was still early on and there was no ending in sight (and being young and ignorant like I was I thought this was a good thing at the time)

At least you know what you like about the show and don't try to pass it up as being good to justify that. I've had animes I didn't like that had characters I thought were great so I can understand (tbh Steins;Gate was sort of like that for me, although that's probably not nearly as bad as SAO I don't think)
Yeah but like I have said many times you could see the problems with those two series when they were both young.
Like just before and right around when they become popular hits.
Them being popular is not why they became bad.

Exactly
I really like Asuna.
And at times the animation during the fights are well choreographed and very fluid.
Otherwise, it's pretty cliched and bad.

I would say the first Arc is worth watching though. It's harmless enough.

For Naruto it sort of was since it made the series go on and on and on and on. Early on it was pretty awesome for a teenager to watch at the time.
Bleach was more of an issue of bad writing in general, although I thought the first 50 episodes or so (I started watching it right as episode 4 aired so I was with it for a while) were pretty decent. I probably wouldn't think much of it now mind you, but at the time it was the cool thing to watch.

Asuna has a great character design. Love her outfit. I think she's advertised heavily with the show and there's a reason for that. Hell I don't even watch the show and I think her figurine looks great!
Heard really good things about the first arc from a lot of sources. It's everything that follows that worries me. Mm it does have nice animation though.
How's the OST just curious?

You aint missing out on much.
The cosplay is pretty awesome, and like I said the artist section is great too. But otherwise they are mostly meh (I still go though)
too crowded and every vendor is basically identical.
