So I watched Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro...
Probably my favourite Miyazaki film from the ones I've watched.
Has it got the best plot? No.
Has it got the best characters? No.
Has it got the depth of his other works? No.
But it's its undeniable charm that just clicks with me. Not to mention the English dub was FANTASTIC. It's witty and, at times, (intentionally) cheesy dialogue just went perfectly with the kind of anime it wanted to be.
Hell, what's there NOT to like about lovable rouges, a damsel in distress, a great heist, a spy-chick, a rival cop and to wrap it up, some great over-the-top action scenes! It's an adventure all the way through, and it's animated like a Disney film with dialogue of a R15 movie. It's all kinds of crazy!
So if you want a great adventure and simple fun then watch it, it's really great.
This is where I watched the dub.
It appears there's more than one version since the kissanime one isn't that good.

Hell, the dialogue is probably way off from the sub, but everything goes so well with the tone and atmosphere of the movie that I don't really care. Plus, the 80's movie vibe goes well the the American VAs they chose.
9/10 - and that's because it's a solid movie with great pacing and doesn't try to be more or less than it should be.
Hell, I've actually watched a stand alone movie and thought it lacked nothing. Now that's a miracle.
And apparently there's an entire FRANCHISE revolved around this Lupin III fella.

It's actually really good until a certain point.
Then it falls apart.
Cos budget reasons.
Psychological aspect is good.
But nowhere near as good as say... err, Ergo Proxy.
Is it worth the watch? Probably. If you're into that stuff like me.
Only the last episode of LotGH left... How did I reach this point so soon, why is it over?

Because it's such a sexy show.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes is a very unique show and how it over the span of 110 episodes managed to not only touch on many subjects but more often than not delved into them to an adequate degree for the subjects to feel worth the time spent on them. It's a show that give a lot of interesting points to ponder and consider, it's a show that allow the viewer come in contact with themes and ideas that are very much alive today and maybe even more so than ever before. Really pleased that I finally got the chance to see it.
The show is obviously not perfect nor is it a show for everyone. It's very dialogue heavy which might make it hard for some to experience and the first 26 episodes or so are incredibly slow and the pace could sometimes feel a tiny bit slow but that was far less of an issue once I reached the midway point and further. Worth a shot but I can easily understand anyone find LotGH to not be their kind of show.

Finished Clannad After Story. It is a good show. Really captures the essense of portaying a capable story about adolascence. Took many aspect into consideration, delving into the joys and struggles one faces in adulthood (or can face). I liked it. Though the ending was out of place I found. Apparently created just for the show to have a happy ending. Eh anyway, never much liked its supernatural aspects.
OK, with that finished, gonna experience the rest of the Garden of Sinners movies.
See, I thought so too. But there's a certain beauty to the end that makes it tick for me.
Chris made a fantastic post about it about two millennia ago, but yeah, his "choice" is what did it for me. Since it's essentially him accepting the reality of his suffering and not escaping from it. He went through so much pain but through so much joy too, and that's why he chose to come back.
His wish, of course, came true.
It takes some time to sink, and it doesn't help that if you're anything like me, supernatural elements the likes of Clannad feel forced and out of place at first glance.
Plus, you can't deny that sh*t was foreshadowed at f*ck.
The show is obviously not perfect
Lies and scandal!
Prefer sub though.
Yeah. Like I say.
Dubs are really hard to get into if you've watched the sub first whilst the reverse isn't the same.
Apart from FMAB. I don't think I could ever watch FMAB subbed. But that's because I've watched it dubbed so many times.
Still no massages, ... and of course still no anime. I caught a glimpse of F/SN: UBW on our TV, but promptly switched to NFL since I am first going to watch F/Z (was only halfway through with that before I went to visit no-anime-land) and because it was the local dubbed version (and believe me, commercial German anime dubs are pure torture!).
There is no justice in this world.

Wait... you get anime on TV?
Dammit Europe!
It's a curse, a honey trap that lures you with promises, but rips your soul apart if you ever give into its treacherous temptations.
Anime, at least in Germany, is still almost exclusively considered a cartoon for kids. You only find the more mature anime on PayTV (our family has Sky) and even there it still gets the same underfunded, underappreciated efforts when it comes to localizing the content. Dreadfull, simply dreadfull.

HELL YEAH!

Watched the final episode of Amagi Brilliant Park. It's a show that really work best if not taken seriously in the least. It got fanservice, silly, quirky characters and a decent enough story to make everything move along. It got a solid protagonist that left a stronger impression on me than most ever do. He actually got a personality! Around him are many characters that all add their little touch to the experience. The art and animations are good and can be counted as a strength of the show even if neither will blow any minds.
It's not bad, but not great either. It's a silly show, watch it if you want silly and just some easy comedy.
