Fate route is very mediocre. Great world-building and characterization for the the key characters, but that's basically it. The quality compared to UBW (anime) is quite striking , and surprising to be honest. Feels like it has been written by an entirely different person / team.
Aaaaaaand we are back to talking about anuses again.

There is a reason to why Fate is the least favorite route, while UBW and HF dominates the score boards in polls. (the ratio is almost under 5-10% for Fate). That is how much people dislike it. Only redeeming quality is basically the attention to Saber.

Then you will be pleased by the fan service in the episode.
Anyway, spent approximately 5 hours today reading F/SN, and this sh*t is long as hell! I'm barely even half way of the Fate route. Jesus, I shutter to think the amount of pages were this VN a book.
Prologue: 676 pages, 2313 lines and 26246 words. Fate: 9530 pages, 28056 lines and 299080 words. UBW: 7221 pages, 22154 lines and 219495 words. HF: 9206 pages, 37508 lines and 275774 words.

HF was that long? Well it certainly felt like it was much shorter. Guess I simply enjoyed it that much.
Oh and BTW, I personally prefer UBW over all the rest, but quality wise I think HF is the best written one (UBW being juuust under it). But UBW b/c of reasons.
Gonna start HF today. Then when I finish it, wipe it out of my memory and make UBW my headcanon.
I don't need all that sad happening.
OH BOY here we go! Keep us updated Sim.

Like Clones said, it's not gonna win points for originality, and a lot of things fall short. That being said, everything from before Nanashi drops of Kotaro at the temple is damn near perfect.
Buuuuuut... because it's a movie *grumble grumble* everything else falls flat like necessary characterisation and development for minor/side characters.
I watched it dubbed because frankly I've been watch lots of subs lately and I needed one.
It was... eh.
Apart from Nanashi and Blondie the rest don't stand out and by god is that kid's voice annoying. Plus they decided to go with "No Name" which is the literal translation for Nanashi and god knows why they did that because Nanashi sounds way cooler.
Nanashi himself is a good character with decent levels of characterisation and good transition at the end.
Nothing special though... because it's a movie... *grumble grumble.*
Seriously, best movie I've watched from all these anime films (that aren't parts of a series) is Lupin III: Castle of Cagliastro.
Still... the fight scenes and ESPECIALLY the climax are amazing and gorgeously animated and that OST sent goosebumps down my spine.
So watch it if you want a decent action movie with decent characters and a great f*cking OST.
Ah yes that game I really need to get round to playing.
Torment was pretty solid, part of an earlier more crazy era of CRPGs. It along with a few other games are the closest things to JRPGs I've played among western games.
