I finished watching Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica earlier today. I found it to be both enjoyable and interesting, I don't recall ever laughing, but it wasn't that kind of show so I'm okay with that. The show knew what it was and played its strengths very well!  

 

The characters were all neat, it took a while for Madoka to grow on me because of how innocent she was, but she eventually did. I liked how all of the other characters were flawed in some significant way. I was glad that the writers weren't afraid

to kill off characters. I had a feeling that they'd all come back at or by the end because of something that Madoka would do, but it was still nice to have long lasting and impactful deaths. I was also surprised by how long it they waited to have Madoka become a Magical Girl, I liked that. I liked wondering when she was going to do it, it's something that I knew was going to happen, just not when.

 

By the time the show was over Homura was easily my favorite character.

I felt so bad for her, her contract was easily the worst (well, until Madoka goes God). I just cannot imagine how traumatic and frustrating it would be to see everyone and everything that you love and care for die over and over and over and over again.

 

 

The plot was well-written, the show went on for the perfect length of episodes and everything was wrapped up nicely by the end of the show. 

 

The art-style was something that I really enjoyed, I like how it changed whenever they confronted witches. 

 

Such a great show, I now see why a lot of people in this thread praise it (I'm looking at you, Isi).

 

I need to sit down and watch the 3rd movie, that's next up for me.

I always suspected that something was off with it, especially because it kept using the term contract.

A billion red flags and alarms started going off in my head when Homura killed it and it reappeared and ate its dead body. I figured that Kyubei would be the big bad that they all would fight at the end, I figured he was harvesting their souls for himself to become more powerful. I wasn't that far off.

The show itself is kinda great.. this one arc spawned from the most vile corners of the universe is not. Could be considered almost like torture if one want to. Not that far off!

FSN rider could easily defeat FZ rider but if I tell you how I would have to spoil her identity.

FSN lancer only has to use his NP on FZ lancer and he would be done for.

FSN Berserker could easily kill FZ berserker because of superior stats and and his NP. Also Illya doesn't cough blood when she lets Berserkers fight.

 

Archer is a special case because of spoilers

 

Assasin I don't know but FSN Caster wouldn't allow FZ Caster to do what he did in FZ.

 

A lot of it has to do with who summoned them. FZ Berserker had a weak master, thus he is weaker than he would normally be. And having a gattling gun as a Noble Phantasm is pretty cool. Dont' bring a sword to a gun fight and all that jazz (unless the sword can shoot energy beams)

 

FSN lancer gets a bad rep, he was clearly dominating Saber in that fight.

 

FSN Rider... don't know really. She gets taken out out so hillariously easy (yes, surprise attack). Not sure if she would have as easy time with F/Z Rider as you think. Iskandar is pretty radical and his Noble Phantasm is unmeasurable.
