Mr. No Touch doesn't put out much and there is a lot of risk involved because Crazy won't share (and rightfully so, Mr. No Touch is the only person that I've ever had a serious conversation with about pooping and reading in Private Message). 

 

I even recommended this book:

My brother has been looking at lewd anime lately, because a friend of mine was looking at a couple shows and my brother became curious about the shows my friend checked out.

I chuckled when I noticed him looking at Rias from High School DXD being naked, with only her hair covering her boobs.

 

Tell him to stop watching that crap.

 

Get him into FMAB!

 

Nice post, Sim! Appreciate your impressions on it. Might take a look if I am in the mood (though most likely I'll just wait till the new adaptation drops by).

 

 

Take note that LOGH is not that political astute on every level. Aspects like socioeconomics, 'geo-politics' and proto-nationalism are quite superficial, even tough the show takes these up on several occasions.

 

The show relies heavily on the portrayal of state interests, power struggles, revolution and the workings of a governmental system for respective nation, when it comes to politics. At many cases, political aspects are used as set pieces for the narrative to flow into a direction that it wants it to go, but doesn't go into further depth than simply a "summary" of sorts.

 

Still, LOGH is without a doubt impressive on so many levels, but not a masterpiece.

 

I agree (aside from the masterpiece part but that's because I'm bias as f*ck.) However, where LOTGH puts its focus, it does so profoundly, exploring the key areas of its politics as astutely as possible.

 

Politics is a very complex subject with so many layers that I doubt a show could succeed in covering absolutely everything possible without over excreting itself or ignoring other very important things like character development and characterisation.

 

LOTGH had covers so many topics, it's great that it finds a balance between them all.

 

This is where Arslan fails. Again, we have power struggles as its main point, but it doesn't even come close to LOTGH's level at doing everything it possibly can to cover the areas revolving it as much as it could.

 

I think I heard the word "treasury" once.

 

At least LOTGH paid attention to some economical issues involved (like the scene below) with war, even if it was a brief glance at the topic, it was at least something.
