I watched the show when it was ongoing and it's a show that miss a lot. It got a good episode here and there but once it's summarized into one show it's really just a mess of things. A shame since the main idea behind it is interesting.

Mm I was watching it as it was ongoing and got to about episode 5-6 which I think is about halfway through it. Very inconsistent with its quality. I remember a few things bugging me like the sudden change in characters going from episode 1 to 2 and you don't get any context as to why until a bit later. Or like how one of the episodes had like a 5 minute scene with that girl talking to her teacher or something about a test she took :S I was just like "uhhh OK.." I might still sit down to finish it eventually anyways. If nothing else I though Shaft did a good job with it.

Sorry to hear you couldn't get into SSY Chewin. I liked it early on myself but it's one that's hard to fully appreciate until the very end I think.

Oh some that I haven't seen mentioned here in awhile... I'm with you on Daioh, 12 kingdoms, not so much Serial Experiments or Cantabile. I haven't seen the others..

 

Mostly I just liked Haibane Renmei over Lain.. wasn't a big fan of the style over all. The music moments in Catabile were pretty cool though.

To be fair, Lain isn't exactly one of my favorites either. I still consider it a must watch though.

Sorry to hear you couldn't get into SSY Chewin. I liked it early on myself but it's one that's hard to fully appreciate until the very end I think.

Might give it an episode or two and see whether it will change my mind about the show. I can certainly see the appeal, but apparently it is not something that holds my interest at the moment. Well I'm not that keen on starting something and not finishing it, specifically when it is something good, so we'll see.

Have you watched Code Geass? It's got a fairly heavy political bent... mixed with a lot of silliness. It's like part that part mega anime fluff.

Not yet, but it is a show that I'm gonna tackle at some point. Postponed it due to other things grabbing my interest, in addition to it being a mecha series which I am not personally a fan of.

I like how Chewin was all like "I'm not gonna watch SSY!!" and then Isi comes along and is displeased about it and he immediately goes "well I might just watch and episode or two.. baka!" Yup, OTP right there.

Jokin aside, started watching Gintama and oh lord is this funny! Up to 5 episodes only and I have been laughing like a doofus. Man, 200+ episodes of this should have me entertained for a good while.

Angel Beats! has the best music that I've ever heard. I even have the entire soundtrack bookmarked, I like to listen to it while playing COD (don't judge me!).

I finished watching Magical Madoka Rebellion today. Isi once told me that I'd either hate it or love it and he was right.

 

I loved it. 

 

There were a couple of things that I never figured out

, but I think they were probably explained and I just missed it, because the explanations started coming in really fast towards the end and I was watching the sub (which was moving rapidly during a specific explanation scene), so I was reading rapidly and didn't have much brain power left for processing. 

 

I did understand the ending though, or at least I believe I do. 

 

Homura is my favorite character, through and through.

It's funny how we both suspected the same things for being responsible for the world state in the same order; Bebe, Sayaka and then herself. I was pleasantly surprised that she survived through the end of the movie, I figured she would die as she was the only girl to not die during the series. What she did at the end was both selfless and selfish, but I respect her for it. I know that she took away Madoka's godhood so that Madoka could live a peaceful life. I enjoyed her putting Kyubey in its place, loved seeing it look traumatized, she made it feel something alright.

 

My favorite scene in the movie had to have been the after credits scene (due to the lack of context, I don't consider it a spoiler):

two recap movies? Only recap movie I know about is Benizakura one that retells that  arc with new scenes at 1080p. The other movie is Yorozuya yo Eien Nare, which is a whole new story.

Awesome that you loved it aswell! It's kinda totally absolutely very awesome! I had tons of discussions with Isi and Anima about so many parts of it back when I watched it last June. At least 3-4 posts alone were entierly focused on the "I caught you" scene and the implications of what happened and how we all saw it. There are countless of things that I love about the movie so I really do look forward to when I get to watch it again and remind myself of a few things and notice a ton of things I missed the first time around.

 

Now to go and spend the coming hours listening to the OST again

Looking at it, it just seems to be a recap with nothing added unlike the Benizakura movie, probably why I didn't bother with those two. Can't wait for you to get to the four devas arc. Second best arc by far.
