Haha, way to kill the mood!
Well if the rest of the episodes at least manages to convey whatever it delves into in an orderly fashion, I'm more than content.

They do, some better than other episodes but overall they certainly do

Well it was also the first time I had watched anime and gone, whoa, this is interesting and different, previous exposure to things such as DBZ etc didn't achieve that. I still just watch the opening and song at times because it's amazing.

First episode of GitS 2nd GiG and it is already off to a solid start.
Pulling the act of terrorism as focal point in the individual episode, it managed to properly convey it on a sociopolitical level; taking into account China and Japan's role as an administrative division specifically regarding taxation and refugee movements and how it intertwined to the terrorists, while simultaneously portraying Section 9's role as special forces and what state they were in due to the consequences that took place during the previous season.
Yup, I am certain I'm gonna enjoy this season immensely.
Oh boy. A pretty gif, Chewin....
I'm gonna have to add this to my list, aren't I..... ![]()

Have I ever mentioned that the undying love for Ko makes me happy?
Still need to get around to starting season 2. Though thanks to Tumblr, I've seen some screenshots from the newly announced movie. I like what I see but as with season 1, I worry that knowing some stuff in advance will make season 2 not hit quite as hard.
Do we know if Gen is writing this movie? I haven't really kept up on any actual details surrounding it.
ETA: Since I caught up on the page too I wanted to say something that amused me through season 1. In a way, Ko feels like this generation's Spike and it made me really happy.
Not really relevant, but congratulations on 1,000 posts!

Caught up with F/SN UBW, sadly more than anything else because it means I'll have to wait along with everyone else from now on.
And it's pretty intriguing how different UBW is from the first F/SN.
The urge to play/read the VN is greater than ever before. And I can't, because there's no one selling it wherever I looked (the only out of Japan version Google showed me was the 120$ 10th Anniversary Box (physical) from J-List, USA). Seems to me it's impossible to get this in Europe (for affordable prices at least) unless you pirate it.
DAMN YOU JAPAN!!!
Quit hogging all the goodies ...

Good god another one who hasn't seen GITS?
Honestly when I started watching anime I just found a top 200 list and basically just ground it down... it was about as satisfying anything done since. I kind of ignored the longer ones was the only thing. Oh here it is

I have issues with a list that puts FMA (2003) at Number 2, whilst Brotherhood isn't even mentioned....and with Yu Yu Hakusho at 124.....

Thank you Vroom~ I promise I'll reply to your message soon, my friend. Was hit with a plague for a while and then got distracted by WoW so my conversation skills have been kind of shitty as of late. ![]()
Took me long enough to hit 1,000. That's what I get for not being so much a social butterfly unless I'm five hour speeching about something. >_______>

With lists like these it's usually best to just ignore the numbers and just see what grabs your interest on it.

Well if you haven't even watched things like GITS how would you know? ![]()
Plus it's like Liamv2 said I mean you can click it and go "oh, this is about geo-political power politics, sounds like my style." Etc.
I think my experience with big lists is generally I don't find it 100% accurate for my tastes as plenty I would arrange differently, things like Monster, Gundam Seed Destiny, Trigun, FLCL, One piece, and yet at the same time hitting all the classics seemed like a good way to find things I liked, (FMA, Elfen Lied, X, Fumoffu) because more often than not, they're up there for one reason or another.
Actually I will take this opportunity to suggest Full Metal Panic Fumoffu again, because like Spice and Wolf it has lots of easy camaraderie/friendship stuff going on...

Fair point, I'll give it a decent browse.
Now, this might be a dumb question, please don't smite me, but is Clannad good?

The first season is good but it's the second season called Clannad: After Story that really is terrific

Nope no tears at all. There are no sads here. Nobody got their soul ripped out.

It got some very, very powerful moments that may evoke tears. Obviously varies person to person, it did manage to get a strong reaction out of me on one occasion

It is. A good story about adolescence and what it entails, both the pros and cons of it. Nice mixture of comedy and drama, and features some good, distinctive characters to boot. Its emotional undertones can get quite heavy however, to the point that the show relies quite heavily on them (basically every arc is a tear jerker), but it works within the narrative.
So yeah, recommendable for sure.

While I did enjoy Clannad (I haven't watched Afterstory (yet), my problem with it was how sometimes it felt as if the main purpose of the show was to make you feel sad and cry.

Honestly my biggest problem with Clannad was that it kind dragged things out a bit too much and some things felt pointless. Early after story is ****. I can't even remember most of it, there was a gang and a ghost cat. After story doesn't really pick up until they leave school.

Never apparently. You have to read the light novels now.
