So back to Spice and Wolf.

As it should be certain by now. Love it.

And I'm going to buy the complete series on Blu-Ray.

Still... if there's anything weird about Spice and Wolf is that Lawrence, despite being an awesome character, is a complete and utter lolicon.

 

Good for its medieval setting or a 25 year old could never bang what appears to be a  15 year old and get away with it xD

She's described as looking 15. But she looked (and sounded for that matter) early 20s to me in the anime and artwork.

*Shrug* But I suppose I'm bad at stuff like that.

For example:

Despite saying 16, Rushuna Tendo didn't look anywhere close to that to me. More like 23.

I'm not judging at all xD

 

Anime guys and gals usually don't look their age unless they're in their 20s, 30s everything between that and 60+ is kind of a guess.

 

Tiger's in his mid/late 30s right? He could easily pull of late 20s if he wanted to.

 

But yeah, Holo is hundreds of years old so that's why she talks the way she does :D

 

She's freaking awesome anyway, no wonder the dude fell for her.

 

I'm just saying the err... setting allows for more leniency for the age gap.

 

If you want to look at it at another angle, Lawrence is a 4 year old brat in comparison to Holo's 300+ years or whatever :lol:

General consensus i've seen in here is that it's a horrendous pile of crap. I does seem to be pretty popular though.

Same. The artwork in the light novels portrays here a lot more younger than the anime version.

Log Horizon is a pleasure to watch.

 

And it's so nice to have a very intelligent glass-wearing anime dude in a comedy that isn't a total douche.

 

Shiro/a/o/u (because the translations haven't decided on how to spell Shirou) is actually a decent human being and down-to-earth to boot.

I was going to watch Clannad after Girls und Panzer (but I'm not too serious on the idea yet), but I'm thinking I want to take a easy ride show with a good dub that's less than 50 episodes, would Spice & Wolf be the place to go, or do you have another idea?

And the post earlier listing anime, that's all the anime I have watched.

Spice and Wolf has some of the best dub voice acting I've ever heard in an anime (and I'm really fussy with my dubs, since I prefer them to subs when I can find good ones.) It's also one of the VERY FEW times I'd ever say that the dub voice actor is better than the subbed. Of course... most (if not all) of this is directed towards Lawrence and Holo. Can't say much for the other VAs... well, Eve/Eva/whatever was voiced by Olivia Armstrong <3

 

 

 

So go for it.

 

If not...

 

Black Lagoon would do.

Hehe glad to see that you still have watched more than me. I'm at 116 shows since late-march 2014!

 

 

Is Tokyo Ghoul any good? I'm thinking maybe I should watch that.

 

It got a fantastic opening track and that's all good I can say about it. One solid side character too..

Yes! Shirou is a great protagonist and a lot of that comes from how down-to-earth he is and that he actually can play the role that he assigned to himself. Being the villain in glass give him some cred that normal nerd Shirou wouldn't be able to get.

Yeah, he grows on me by each episode and it's great because he's badass in every way a shounen character usually isn't badass in.

 

I don't know wtf SAO is about, but Log Horizon is the ****. I love that it can delve into different things at just the right level so as to never lose focus on its centre. Like the whole "political" part with the conference. It covered the things it needed to cover like laws, the economy and you know... a functional society. But it never had to go to Spice and Wolf/LOTGH levels in order to do it.

 

The show is cool as a 'what if' experiment. And it sort of lingers around a sociological experiment, but not too much to make it seem pretentious, or too little to leave it lacking for depth. It scratches the surface just enough to make it juicy.

 

Overall, it's pretty f*cking great. 12 episodes in already. I never expected it to be this good tbh.
