Wolf's Rain, Cowboy Bebop and Ghost in the Shell all have pretty good dubs and soundtracks that to me are like the soundtrack equivalent of a good dub. Songs with actually good English in them.

Black Lagoon has a great dub but... as for that opening song, Red Fraction... lol.

Fate/Zero has also a good dub. Its one of those anime that has both.

Baccano's dub is also great.

I watched the first three episodes of Tokyo Ghoul, and it's pretty bad so far, but I will watch the rest and report back on them. For science.

I hope you're watching the censored version. Being able to see what's going on the other half of the time would ruin the experience.

Yeah.

As for dubs...

What the others said.

@Bro

Good, cos really, you can't have a character like that in the ending... and I mean like, as the centre of attention in the ending.

Cos right now the story could be exactly the same without her, even though she's hilarious and adorable she adds nothing much.

Popping in to say I'm going to add Eden of the East to my list thanks to your little promotion, Vroom. :3 I love mysteries and could use a new one to cover.

That's the one that has an Oasis song as it's opening -- Might have to watch it too, when I'm done with Gakutsuou and Wantanabe's new terrorist-centric anime.

Of course mentioning licensed songs for OPs reminds me I still haven't started Ergo Proxy... >____>

The mention of Oasis reminded me of Ergo Proxy, even though it doesn't have an Oasis song in it.

This has a fantastic dub and is probably one of my favourite animes out there.

Funny thing is that the opening theme has to do a lot with the anime's plot.

Pretty mind f*cking in the same was Evangelion can be... but I think Proxy handles it a lot better.

Even if you have no idea about the philosiphies it tackles, you can still get the jist on what it's trying to tell you.

There are two 'stand alone' type episodes (or one, I can't remember) which are completely utterly and pointlessly mind f*cking though.

(Talking about the Game Show and the Disney Land thing... more so for the former since the latter is consistent with the setting's laws.)

The anime has an interesting style to it and it's very dark and dystopian. Lots of greys, browns etc... don't expect a colourful anime from it. But it fits with just how depressing the world actually is.

Radio-motherfing-head. It was worth it alone to hear the stringing 'cords of Paranoid Android whenever an episode ended, which is incidentally also a song that partially references Marvin the Paranoid Android from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.. Excellent, excellent.

Oh, and of course, Ergo Proxy itself is a solid cyberpunk-anime, mixed with some dystopic-futuristic elements ala Dune or what have you.

I'm surprised your first example was not Fullmetal.

From what I've seen of Gankutsuou: Conte of Monte Cristo, so far, I think I can safely say that it's an anime that sim would enjoy, due to its villain.. who's a morally complex bastard.

Yar. ♡ Even years back when EP was first announced, I got giddy over learning Paranoid Android was the chosen theme (OK Computer has been my absolute favorite Radiohead album for ages).

A friend of mine was working through the series a while back and mentioned that the music would probably be right up my alley with mixing electro and Gregorian chant. I really need to get back to watch stuff. :P

So while it was still airing I ended up putting the second season of Psycho-Pass on hold three episodes in and haven't gotten back to it since. I heard a few negative opinions from the later episodes so I was wondering. Should I pick up where I left off or should I just not bother?

Watch it, just because it's not as good as season 1 is not really a bad thing.

I should probably watch that one too since it seems to be the kind of anime I'd like, at least genre speaking.. feels a bit Blade Runner to me.

I liked it though it felt a lot like it was mostly just setting up characters for the movie.

Oh you should totally watch it all. While it's not the same quality and might be a bit bad at places it's still worth it

You know what? You're right. I did enjoy what little of it I did watch and goddamn if there isn't stuff I've watched and loved that other people just loved to hate. Thanks.
