Ah I get it already. A character undergoes numerous trails in an attempt to do something but in the end it was surprisingly simple to solve.

Errr... sort of.
You'll see.
Like I said... maybe I'm just not getting some "thematic significance" or something.
Dub's cool btw.
Not great.
But cool. Just so you know you have options.

The Trigun movie is really good too. I think I liked it better than the show.

I thought the movie took place in the middle.
Hence why I never bothered watching it.

Ahh, my knowledge of Buddhism is superficial at best, and even that has eroded over time, but was there a third outcome? I vaguely recall, maybe certain branches do have ideas of a sort of "heaven"-like place? Something about Pure Land Buddhism. I still don't remember anything about a "hell" though. Just suffering due to attachment to the "self" and being trapped in the cycle of reincarnation. Enlightenment being found in embracing the emptiness of everything, emptiness of self, detachment. Yeah, I'm butchering it. But that's why my thinking is that if we're laying on some kind of supernatural intermediary entity which hands down judgments, being judged reincarnated is probably the bad one whereas "the void" would probably be ideal. But I don't understand the demon/oni mask. Maybe something specific to Japanese Buddhism? Or something else, or just meaningless symbolism like all the crosses in NGE.
But yeah, I don't really know if the show is drawing on Buddhism to begin with. All I have to go on is those two doors.
True, Buddhism doesn't follow the same concepts as heaven and hell as in other religion, which are permanent dwellings. Rather, they are temporary planes since reincarnation plays a big role in the belief system, with the ultimate goal is to reach Nirvana (the third path). Though I don't think they are officially sectioned into three paths really, which is what I was initially arguing about, so the whole "Reincarnation" thing in the anime could have number of meanings.
Well as I said, I haven't yet watched Death Parade, so possibly it will offer insight as the show goes along.

Yeah. Trigun: Badlands Rumble.

It seems like it's after.
Just because of some dialogue leads me to believe as such.

The Trigun movie is similar to the Bebop film in that they both take place somewhere in the middle of there perspective anime arcs. All the main players are involved, and dead characters are no longer dead.

Noragami was fun.
Then Yukine became a self-entitled PoS. Now it's not fun. Just annoying.

Done with the second season of JoJo. I prefer Joseph over Jotaro but this season was very entertaining to watch even if Joseph isn't always the main focus. It's the cast around Jotaro that really make sure that each and every episode got some kind of misery fall upon them. They do really well in that aspect!
