I see what ya did there!

Goddammit Clones! I wasn't making such a reference!
Ah, f*ck it. Might as well.
Sure you weren't! We absolutely believe you ![]()

Eh Zero while enjoyable still has alot of big issues. The biggest issue is how majority of the masters and servants are weaker then the servants and masters in Stay Night and the horrible handling of Sakura and Zoukan that outright gives the wrong impression.
The worm pit thing was really weird...

That's because Zero does not properly explain what the worm pit was truly used for.
Ufotable is fantastic with the fight scenes, art and conversations but their weakness is poor explanation of things. It's a issue that exists both in Zero and UBW anime.

Found the best possible gif for it too.

Indeed. UBW at least has a better pacing in regards to exposition, but still leaves a lot of things up in the air about plenty of things. Even that nerd Rin couldn't go into proper explanation regarding force fields or other related magical workings. But meh, it focuses on what is relevant to the narrative, which is a problem that Fate route suffered from--too much nonsense.

Will post my impressions of it tomorrow in the morning. Have to head early to bed b/c family reasons, so doubt I will post impressions of whatever philosophical the dude delves into (if it is something worthy to point out, of course).

As much as I love that conversation.
I'll slack it off for one reason.
Gouda loves to be pretentious when he's on about simple things.
But soooo in character ![]()

Lord have mercy, I hate such characters.
Deishu Kaiki, Archer, Aizen, and more characters that like to philosophies about seemingly simply things just to appear more intelligent to the casual viewer. Things like these always make me shake my head in disbelief.
Well we'll see how it turns out.

The only reason why one should watch Fate/Zero is because of Archer.

Tho Rider was pretty cool too.

Which will bite Ufotable in the ass in the second season of UBW and HF if they don't properly explain things and do monologue. It's already in the VN, I don't know why Ufotable just can't adapt that into monologue or just have a few minutes of Rin explaining something ect.
It's not like this stuff does not exists it's all in the VN, Ufotable simply choose not to and if it does continue this will confuse alot of non-readers later.

It's a problem with most anime really.
They make simple things convoluted.
I don't know if it's on purpose or not.
LOTGH doesn't.
LOTGH tells it how it is.
It's less a problem with anime and more a problem with the 20min per episode format. Trying to ram loads of info into such a short amount of time must be painfully difficult.

Dunno about that... thing is, simple things can be explained... well... simply.
Utilitarianism = many over the few regardless of morals. It's the consequences that matter in that way of thinking.
There's some meat in between, like that BS about factoring "what will make people happier" and what constitutes as "happier" (like if the value between material and spiritual pleasure or some sort nonsense) but in general, it's not hard to say what it's about.
Like I said, LOTGH covers its Democracy vs Autocracy theme pretty well without having you scratch your head at the pros and cons of each type of government. It's complex, but it lays it out pretty neatly so it doesn't seem all that difficult to understand at all.

Yeah simple things can but complicated in universe events/sciences can't. It's even harder if it's something completely unique to that universe.

Utilitarianism is unique to the Fate-verse?
The whole thing is about ideologies.
And Rin's defenceless anus.
But mostly ideologies.
Well, you know what they say. The best defense is a good offense? And Rin's defenceless anus.
