After Rahs build up I feel almost disapointed.
Pfft...
Better than anything you could come up with after five hours of sleep and a hangover.
That **** was gold considering the circumstances.

Finished Spice & Wolf, after it was mentioned several times here. Yup, enjoyed it far more than I thought. Won't fall into my Top 10 list, but is certainly a great show and quite unique, if I might be so bold.
OK, Log Horizon next!

That you even managed that bro is impressive enough!
So....Neon Genesis Evangelion, yay or nay?
I would say watch it even if its just for the experience of it. I have mixed feelings on it personally.

It's a must watch for most of the same reasons as the music video for "Fantasy" bye DyE.
Have to agree with Clones. That was rather low-key of you, Sim. I was under the impression your skills are at its prime when you are in a hangover. ![]()

Good, now read the light novels, peasant!

Unfortunately bro do not have the amazing viking gen that turn a hangover into a source of power.

I'm from the Mediterranean.
Hangovers are accompanied by swearing, grogginess, mood swings and the realisation that your great great great great great great great.... aunt was a slave shagged by some Roman noble because of how royally f*cked you are.

Damn that gene!

Oh man.. another one without Evangelion. Honestly there's stuff in Evangelion that you just won't find in any other anime IMO, so... yay.
I think it seems to me it's like.. Evangelion is kind of inconsistent, but when it's on point it's kind of the most intense thing in anime...
Evangelion is love it or hate it.
I personally just don't like it though.
Far as I'm concerned, there's only one thing with Fly Me to the Moon in its soundtrack that's worth anyones time, and it's not Eva.
Well, or you like the cool parts and dislike the other parts.. I mean to be honest the split opinions on Evangelion never surprised me because I felt like the series is literally split in terms of quality, some parts were really boring, some were not (to me).

Well that sounds troublesome.

Hmm, might give it a shot then at some point.
Shame that mecha genre doesn't interest me though. Only one I've seen is Gurren Lagann and that was mainly due to Kamina. And you can guess how that ended...

It's kind of a mecha where the enemy isn't the kid's rival or whatever, it's more like mecha where the enemy is literally god. It's very unique, basically.. maybe it's still fundamentally a mecha but it's a mecha on every kind of steroid currently available.
I don't know anyone who watched anime who hadn't seen it and didn't feel sort of something, even disregarding all the experimentalist stuff, which I basically would not defend for the most part as I did not enjoy.
I see. Well I'll tackle it at some point and will see what I think of it.

You adored it?
Because Gurren Lagann is amazing. This is something that can't be argued.
I don't know, maybe you might be one that enjoys the experimentalist stuff /shrug.
At any rate, if it's between Evangelion and something like... uh... In Search of a lost future, or just some random anime I'd say it's no contest.
Really popular anime often seem to get a disproportionate share of commentary and nitpicking, and at a certain point it's probably creating the impression that it's somehow not at all entertaining relative to anime as a whole. Not everyone watches 24/7 and if you are a newer fan or something I'd say just go for all the heavy hitters. The reality is that most anime would be much more maligned if they had half the exposure to criticism that Evangelion has had, and if you watch it without that stuff in mind, well hey, maybe you'll just see what made it popular in the first place.
IMO, anyway.

Haha. WTF. I have no idea why I looked that up.
That video should just be called
"Oh Cthulhu, you wacky prankster"
So I went to the comic book store today. They're trying to clear out all their DVD's for blurays and I was able to pick up the first 3 seasons of this little gem all for about 20 bucks

*is happy* Seasons 1 and 2 are especially great, 3 wasn't nearly as good as the first 2 but it sure had it's moments too. Looking forward to sitting down again one day and rewatching it after I stop lazing about and finish Princess Tutu and LotGH.
Also picked up another volume of Berserk I needed and I couldn't help but laugh.. (warning contains nudity)
Mine never do that.
Dammit Calgary.
You mean damnit Edmonton right? It's not our fault your comic book stores pale in comparison (truth be told we don't actually have that much either)

Also pretty much an archetypal shounen.
Not exactly. Watched up till episode 16, but it was more or less downhill for me after episode 8. I simply had no interest in the show beyond that point. But yes, it is quite a fun, frantic and 'coming of age' type of a show.
So you jumped ship before it started getting REALLY good.
That's a shame. You have to suffer through a few episodes of Rossiu forgetting what kinda show he's supposed to be in. But after that it gets ****** awesome again. Surpassing pretty much everything and ascending to full on Cosmic Awesome.
Only matched by the Finale of Bayonetta.

Not really.
But I've been to every Collectable and Comic store in Edmonton and a few in Calgary.
Sales are the only thing that are better. Inventory wise. Edmontons alot better.

Funny bunny.
