That one was pretty bad. Actually all the Broly movies were pretty bad.

I remember playing that when I was 11 or so years old and hearing Goku say that was definitely one of the high points from that game.

Retrospectively, Europe only had the Japanese version, so I had to bear with female Japanese Goku, but Japanese Frieza however.... I can live with him. His voice is excellent.

Goku was a great protagonist too, which I think would be lost on a lot of people nowadays since that type of character has been overdone and copied so much now.
 
At the time though he was really unique.

In addition to many other aspects as well what is basically considered the norm for shounen series today, considering how influental it has been.

Suddenly remembered my time with the first Budokai and the track "A Hero's Desperation", also playing in the clip above. Loved that.

It's really odd to me the same Japanese Grandmother uses the same voice to play 5-6 different characters on the same show.

Now that you mention it, you're right about Europe only having the Japanese version. 

 

I also live in Europe but because it's been so long since I played that game I simply forgot about the Japanese voices. 

 

Nonetheless, even with Japanese voices that scene was pretty good.

This weeks Log was nothing special at all and right now the pace of the show is very slow. While Log still have quite a few things going for it even with a much slower pace the show need a bit more pace if more interesting things are even going to happen this season.

 

Aldnoah this week had easily the best episode out of the three so far which sound better than it actually is. The first two were quite average while this one was rather good and had a few interesting events in it. Things are clearly moving forward and with an acceptable pace.

Like Sim said, that wasn't Twelve Kingdoms. You should still keep Twelve Kingdoms on your list though. It's a very good anime despite its numerous, horrible flaws.

And when I say very good, I mean one of my favorites. Even if the list of things I dislike about it would probably be a lot longer than the list of things I like about it. But the things I do like about it, I like them a lot.

 

I feel the same, my memory is that this means earlier stuff rather than later stuff.

 

Yup. Great characters, good story, impressive visuals, good soundtrack, awesome action scenes, etc.

What's not to like?

 

It sure is a veeeeeeeeery popular topic among a decent chunk of the people in this thread..

 

I'm not really knocking it but it seems like there's a pattern of the sort of "heroic" themed Japanese stuff seems to have maybe more universal appeal? Not just the Fate series, but also Fire Emblem: Awakening, etc. It's just something I'm noticing.

Love the usage of Meguro's Persona tracks in this abridged.

I think it's just because that stuff has alot of recognizable and familiar elements to people.

Picked up Ergo Proxy as I promised Chris a good 8 months ago or so. It's very fascinating so far and with a very solid start I'll be looking forward to what direction the story will take. The protagonist work well within the world as far as they've allowed me to see the world. Their use of dark and grim colours add to the tension.
