He wrote one great arc - Soul Society (Anderson made Event Horizon), now he's stuck making half-assed RE movies which also plot-kai their way through their runtimes and are generally badly written in order to make a living.
Wonder if Kubo will ever get the funding to write a manga after Bleach is over...

He will make another manga after Bleach and he will have the power to do so. Bleach still sells, it does crap in the rankings, but it still sells. No way they will ever get rid of his "skill" lol.
What a shame. I always thought Kubo would make a good fashion designer. Guess some people don't always know what they're meant for in life unless spelled out to them.

Who's all dead in Bleach now? It seemed like Kubo was willing to kill people at the beginning of the arc.

He is. He very much so enjoys trollin' the fanbase. And they take it like little girls. Poor fools.
So like, there's this company called Burg Hamburg Burg co. that deals with funny random stories, pranks, and events.
They're web-based company that's sorta like collegehumor.com of Japan.
Anyways, their boss has a habit of sending really large prank gifts to this employee. (apparently even a pig's head..) Well the employee, Yamaguchi, just got married, so the company decided to pull off a bigger one this time for him. They found a life-size replica of a zebra, and thought it'd be perfect to leave in his house... but the thing costs 240,000 yen.
So what do they do?
They went and got Kubo Tite and Misawa from Hell (Jump Square artist) to pay for it. LOL.
Apparently Kubo is friends with the comedy group.

There's much to watch - androids cruising the road and snowy scenery, some mystery, a very interesting draining power (+ the way they've handled depicting it) and truly believable evil regarding Cell's char - all's good for now!

I always thought Namek was better than the Androids/Cell saga. Frieza was such an awesome villian, plus the first appearance of the Super Saiyan is one of the best things I've ever seen.eroeru wrote...
I reached the part where they introduce Cell in Dragon Ball Z. And I must say, the series *is* getting better. I love these episodes.

Though I guess if I'd be nostalgic about something in the series, it'd probably be the Freeza bit. Just that right now, I'm not so impressed by powers throwing around and blowing up planets - that's just... meh.
Oh, and I didn't like the android saga myself until now. Cell's introduction felt fresh though, personally.

But he starts to really suck when you find out he was made because of an editor.
Toriyama: Are these Cyborg characters cool?
Editor: No, fans will hate them.
Toriyama: Okay, how about these two new Cyborgs and I added one more of them too!
Editor: No, fans will hate them too, make something better.
Toriyama: How about this Cell character?
Editor: Could you give him some new forms? Fans loved that with Freeza!
Toriyama: ................
That and he was boring as a character.
Best thing about the Cell arc is Satan.

Buu had his moments though. Cell was really boring indeed. The androids too.

The Cyborgs never really had a chance to be good or bad villains, they more or less stop being villains as soon Cell shows. 18 beating up Vegeta is still cool tho.

I was hoping after that fight Piccolo would come into the spotlight more. Lol nope, he got delegated to a mentor role. Some Geth wrote...
Piccolo vs 17 is also a good fight. Nothing to do with villain stuff but still a good fight.
