Good for you. It's not as bad as the general consensus people have of it and I prefer the anime over the VN, which I argue is better despite being a poor amalgamation. Of course that is not that much of a far cry. I find the Fate route to be generally sh*t to begin with.

Well I havet a personal bias towards Deen, it is true that it isn't as bad as every VN reader likes to put it. Heck, Caster is a better character by far in the anime version.

Yeah, one reason why I prefer the anime. At least there she has some level of characterization and we actually get to know the master, instead of how the VN does it with her popping up out of nowhere for a few pages and dying.

I'm aware, but I personally judge the routes separately. An anime can't just leave characters "out" like a VN that requires you to experience them all, hence why I give credit for Deen for implementing certain aspects.

The first time I read the VN (Fate route only) I was like "lol this is kinda men". It wasn't until a friend of mine told me to experience all two routes that I fell in love with it. Still agree with Nasu that Fate should have had more.

I agree that the Fate route is very bad but trying to make it better by introducing plot points from the UBW and HF route like DEEN did is not how the right way to improve it.

Yup, and to make it worse, they made Shirou in the fate route even worse. Shirou in the fate route was already unbearable, but DEENs Shirou? Good lord.

 

Case to the point, lets look at Ufotables ep12 of UBW. Nasu and Ufotable improved that day big time by adding NEW content that made sense and showing stuff Nasu wanted to show in the VN. That's how you improve.
