I agree that the Fate route is very bad but trying to make it better by introducing plot points from the UBW and HF route like DEEN did is not how the right way to improve it.
As I said, poor amalgamation. The anime sure has its problems, but since I judge them individually the anime gets more points in my book, simply b/c it manages to capture fundamental aspects like themes and characters well enough to complement the story (albeit loosely at certain points).
The VN is meant to be experienced by reading all three routes to fully grasp everything that it touches upon, but I'm personally not a fan of such a method and I don't think removing core aspects within a narrative and simply label something as "read / watch the next entry to get further exposition on this matter" as a justification. If a character is missing vital characterization, or a narrative thread is unexplained within the narrative, then that is bad writing. I'm not experienced with VN, so maybe this is a norm with entries that have multiple paths which requires one to experience all paths to make the story "whole", though I don't judge individual stories that way.

Yup, and to make it worse, they made Shirou in the fate route even worse. Shirou in the fate route was already unbearable, but DEENs Shirou? Good lord.
Case to the point, lets look at Ufotables ep12 of UBW. Nasu and Ufotable improved that day big time by adding NEW content that made sense and showing stuff Nasu wanted to show in the VN. That's how you improve.
Yup it really shows.
UBW episode 12 showed this perfectly and I'm sure we will get even more original content in the second season.

Understandable. By most regards I'm a "late bloomer" in that way. But I just kind of take it as it comes. Plus I tend to watch generally more unknown anime anyway. Same way I find my manga generally. I comment on what I can. lel

God, I love that anime.
I watched it all last night till about 3 A.M. Pretty good, but I can't keep bingeing anime like that anymore. Way to exhausting.
Speaking of which I completely randomly got watching Yugi versus Bakora during Kaibas tourney. My favorite part was when Yugi was about to lose and he just CONVENIENTLY pulls the one card that can save his ass at the last second using chea-err I mean "believing in the heart of the cards" and it just happens to be so powerful that Bakoras trap or w.e wouldn't work on it.Just reading it is fine.
And you have to say it's the best comic ever.

They pulled the same B.S, when Kaiba was going to lose during the Pegasus crisis. He stepped next to the edge of the castle wall and forced Yugi to lose, because attacking Kaiba's lifepoints would have thrown him off the castle for some reason.
