I don't know, Geth Rider and Yandere have been absent an awful lot lately.
The three of them might be "on vacation" together.

You're a bad person. Bad Vroom!
Bro would never do such a thing!
How rude!

I did actually watch the first episode of Gintama before I started Ouran High School Host Club.
It was ok.
But wasn't so good I wanted to continue watching all 200+ episodes of the show.
That length is 95% a dealbreaker for me.
Judging an entire series on the first episode. Sounds legit.

After watching several DC and MArvel animes, I found something.
If you look at it closely, in so many cases of the hero`s, their girlfriends are not ordinary people. They may appear to be, but they are not. And to add that, several of them are reporters, yes reporters. Start from Superman`s girlfriend to Tony`s hook ups and so forth, they are super hot apparently, creative AND multi skilled. Like being able to fly a helicopter,And to add that, several of them are reporters, yes reporters. Start from Superman`s girlfriend to Tony`s hook ups and so forth . There are several examples of this. So, this made make a conclusion. My conclusion was that these comics and animes are trying to establish the thought that every reporter, female reporter, is a super hot in her own genius exemplary specimen. And a male reporter is nothing but a side kick, a loser, dum moron maybe and fearful person.
@Chewin
Duality is a theme in general I find can be rather broad depending on how it's done in a story. I would say it fits in terms of Musashi and Kojiro's rivalry much for the reasons you stated. Mind you it's been a very long time since I've last read that manga.
The way Musashi develops I find incredibly interesting. Like I mentioned earlier you can actually see him growing inside his fights and not in the cheesy cheap ways that animes like Bleach try to do.
Indeed, which was certainly a welcome aspect that the fight scenes actually existed for other purposes other than to simply serve as action set pieces.
Anyhow, now with Vagabond tackled, I can finally start with this one which I've been postponing for a while now:

Oh don't worry Vroom Vroom.
I'll always watch this thread.
And I will never ever leave you.
You are certainly a credit to your name ![]()

Not restricted to comics and anime. That trope you can find in any medium, wherein a female character only exist to serve as an exposé--finding out what is under that skirt of theirs and nothing more.
After starting watching Heaven's Lost property, I got in the mood for pervy/funny animes. Too bad sim isn't on atm.

Be sure to let us know your thoughts. I'm sure Sim will wanna get in on this too when he gets back!
Speaking of things postponed I should work on my top 15 list some more today. I got about halfway through it last week and had to step away and take a break. A lot of it is just me gushing and going on tangents about each series. Hardly anything too well written mind you ![]()

Good to hear! Then I don't need to post this anytime soon.

Looking forward to it.

woah, what's his deal, he sit on his nuts or something?
Guys, any help is appreciated...

Probably. Poor Gintoki is always hurting them.
If that's you, you don't look too bad! Better than expected!
Speaking of Gintama, I actually started it the other night. The only reason I didn't finish the episode is subtitle based. CR's has no outlining to the font so my eyes have a really hard time making out the text when it's against Gintoki's white outfit for example.
I liked what I saw though, might just have to try and find a place that handles the font better so it's easier on my eyes.

If the episode doesn't motivate to keep going, it's the series' fault for not being captivating and not the audience's fault for not being interested.

If I'm gonna sit through 200 episodes it's gotta hook me.
But it didn't really.

It just felt disjointed to me.
All the elements (Samurai, Aliens, References to literally anything, whatever the hell that duck thing is) just seemed to be slapped together with no rhyme or reason.
It didn't leave a very cohesive world, and thus wasn't very engaging.
The shows supposed to feel like that.

I'll just reiterate what I said before. Just watch an episode or two whenever the hell you feel like it. You'll probably get fully into it around episode 25 or so. That's when I did at least. The hot pot episode if I remember correctly.
If it was a 12 episode or even a 25 episode season you would have a point, but it's 265 episodes, judging something like that on THE FIRST EPISODE is silly. You have yet to even get to the first serious arc so yeah, judging Gintama on the first episode is complete and utter folly.
Pretty much what Liam said. Gintama is culturally literate humor and more often than not lacks a proper plot (which mostly just serves as a method to throw in all its satirical edges that the show offers). It is rather dumb, and the jokes are hit-and-miss, but it can be 'serious' as well. Haven't yet gotten that far myself, but the general consesus here is that is great on that front as well.
Like I've said in the past, Until Yoshiwara, all serious arcs before that while good are all building up to the true story that Yoshiwara and future arcs continue, yes there is lots of gag episodes before and between arcs, more so the first 50 episodes, but that's Gintama. It's a gag series that makes fun of everything while also having a storyline told in the serious arcs(though right now in the manga Gintama has been serious for four months now)
Don't think Clones was judging the show, just merely pointing out his impressions on the first few episodes, which arguably is what Gintama is mostly about.
Difference is the humor does get better. Judging Gintama on the first episode is simply utterly foolish and will just close you off on good laughs, fantastic fights and good stories.

Chewin explains my thoughts perfectly.
I'm sure it's good. But nothing has personally appealed to me so far to keep me going.
But I'm just blasphemous I guess.
Look at all this Blasphemy.

I don't own DAI. So I don't really have the ability to help.
