I watched it a bit ago. I enjoyed it quite a bit overall though the middle arc dragged on way longer than it had any right too.
I'm in the middle of the Nine Schools Competition right now. Well, episode 10 of it now. Tatsuya just fought in the final for the Monolith Code against Masaki and Cardinal George.

Well... it's mostly preference.
Like... errr...
I love stuff like LOTGH, The Witcher 2 and ASOIAF, right? Y'know, war and politics and all that stuff.
Berserk does it in its Golden Age arc, but then goes for a more personal story afterwards.
Which is fine.
But I still looooove stuff like that. So when I find a manga that's comprised of like, 85% of that, then it's hard for me to choose.

Good thing is that it's really easy to get into.
Cos the first 60 chapters or so leave off in awesome cliffhangers that get you begging for more.

Forget the anime.
Just read the manga.
Not that it's bad. But the manga is way better.
Some scenes they had to cut because well... it was too graphic.
Berserk is some dark-ass hardcore sh*t.

I have no response to that.
It's deep, trust me.
It just tends to get ignored by the meathead masses who only see Berserk for its surface.
Which is 110% unadulterated testosterone.
But again...
It's rare you find something so badass with so much depth to it.
Like Lord of the Rings and anything Tolkien.
But 100x darker.
