We wouldn't have too if everyone could understand people have different opinions about this stuff. I'm aloud to find a character as a laughably dull villain. Because Gilgamesh just isn't compelling to me. I find him annoying.

And Sim just because you have an enormous crush on a character it doesn't mean everyone else has to like them. I'm not your father, you don't need my blessing.

Sure, there is plenty of reasons to loathe Gil, though it is the aspect that you claim to solidify your opinion that I find questionable; e.g Gil doing nothing in Fate and being defeated by Berserk, when it is the opposite.

 

So arguing for simply arguments sake.

The thing about Gil is that he takes few things serious, or rather, takes few people serious enough to get serious. When he does, good night as F/Z Rider can attest to.

 

That can easily be considered a weakness on Gil's part, that he's simply too arrogant to bother backing it up because his opponent isn't worth sullying his blades on, but he IS one, if not THE strongest heroic spirit so far. Though I haven't delved into the expanded Nasuverse much, so take what I said with a grain of salt.

It just makes him a very boring character. He's about as one dimensional as you can get really.

Hell his reason for participating is literally just because he thinks the grail is rightfully his. No other reason.

There's just nothing compelling about a villain like that.
