Never read the manga. The original anime and the Second Raid were okay.
I'd instead recommend people to watch the Fumoffu spinoff. :wizard:

Never read the manga. The original anime and the Second Raid were okay.

I agree, that one is the best. The show works better when it's light hearted rather than when it takes itself seriously.

I get a short week this week for Thanksgiving. I think I'm gonna try to finish ZnT and Okami-San (finally.)

Also, right after I watched BECK, I was craving more music anime, so I started K-On. I kinda wanna finish that, just because I got so far in it. I hate leaving series unfinished.

How is K-On compared to Beck? Is it as good? I mean, I know that's subjective but would you recommend it to a fan of Beck?

It's really nothing like Beck tbh. I thought it would be, which is why I wanted to watch it so badly, but it's not nearly as serious. It's more cutesy.

That's not to say it's bad though. I was enjoying it. It just didn't fill that hole. ;-;

K-On is umm...awesome for a moeblob fans. It's all about cute girls doing cute things. 

Personally, I love it. It is so "PG" that I can even watch it with my grandparents.

However, if you want a pure music/band anime, you probably won't like it.

It's not really similar to Beck. But it's fantastic in its own genre of random high-school-girl musings.

Not a show with too much substance but rather a cute and kinda "moe" perfect pastime.

edit: if you're looking for anime about music, look no further than Nodame Cantabile. And if you're into very strange, original and "heavy" humor, you could try Detroit Metal City. Some would recommend Nana, but I'd avoid that unless you're a girl in your early teens, with according tastes...

As for anime similar to K-ON!... well, most moe will do the trick. But other 'laxed Kyoto Animation flicks are definitely recommended. Like Lucky Star.

editedit: as to reasons why the thread would be dead - well... school/uni.

A very long time ago I watched an episode or two. Didn't attract me. At all.

It's generic fantasy/cheerful show with harem tendencies as far I'd tell. Could be wrong though.
