Just because you never saw any gay adult couples does not mean they did not exist. The world in SSY was vast, that's like saying there are no gay couples in Ontario because the town you visited had no gay couples. It's outright silly.

Which is honestly one of the DUMBEST complaints I've ever heard. As if you need a warning to prepare yourself for that.. Why not warn people there will be straight couples? Never once heard that being used as a complaint.

Anyways the SSY anime is wonderful and one of my all time favorites.

Also I have to agree with Rah. We are not really shown many adult couples in the show overall. Sakis parents, and then the one couple that ends up together at the end.. Otherwise who else was there? I don't see there not being enough homosexual adults as being a valid complaint personally. There's another point I could make in this sense but I'll leave it at this for now.

Considering there are people who harbor homophobia, people expressing antipathy / contempt / prejudice towards the show does not surprise me. But yes I do agree, it is ludicrous without a doubt, and even I who didn't finish the show had it made clear that sexuality is viewed differently in the society they live in, compared to ours.

It should also be reminded that SSY is based on a novel and the actual explanation for why nobody in universe blinked an eye about the homosexual relations was never properly brought over to the series. If I'm remembering it correctly (been quite some time since I poked at the novel), heterosexual relations were basically against the law in their society until a certain age was reached (to try and prevent fiends and such from being born), so as one would probably expect, same-sex experimentation and relations were not only encouraged, but what ended up being the default up until adulthood where a person was then free to be with whoever they wanted.

 

But yes, people dropping the show because of the same-sex content are the sort of folks I'd like to shake in unfriendly manners. Does every heterosexual romance in a series need to have some sort of lead up too just to be safe? I'll stop right there before I rant though. Isi and I wall of texted each other on the matter when I was working through the series. But yes, considering how shellshocked Saki remains about Maria well into her adulthood, there's no denying the fact that she did truly love her.

Eh the fact that Berserker is the only servant that is imposable to kill alone I don't see the issue. No matter the route Berserker was always killed in a joint effort. Only one servant can kill him with no help and that was because of a certain weapon he had and another was able to kill him 6 times however had he got off Nine Lives, he would have been able to kill him for good but since he lacks something to bind Berserker he could not do it. Why do you think Caster wanted Saber and Archer so bad? Caster can not kill Berserker just with herself and Assassin, even if she just has Saber they would most likely lose. This is another mistake from Ufotable but God Hand has another ability never stated in the anime. Only A rank attacks can kill him and can only be used ONCE. Ala Once Saber kills him once, her sword can never kill him again. Even Caster would run out of magic to kill him, that is why it has to be a group to tackle him.

 

Also remember Excalibur(aside from Ea) is the strongest weapon in the series, it's a divine blade so it being able to block his attacks while being used by a powerful servant is not really a issue.
