Though to be fair, though Bittenfield's plans aren't the most...err...sophisticated, he serves his purpose well which Reinhard utilises as a competent commander should.

 

He's a powerful force to be reckoned with if you leave him as a reserve.

 

Nothing says "oh not this sh*t again" like Bittenfield eating away at your forces with brute force.

True, Bittenfield usage of 'offensive battle tactics' is a method to instigate both military aggression within the enemy ranks, and to utilize bold and swift strikes to gain an advantage. The show portrays both the pros and cons of this method through several battles.

Bah, that's just b/c I am gradually experiencing all these great shows that I can gush over with you.

Yeah, as long as you use Bittenfield right he can be an instrumental tool for your victory.

 

Though I wish the show did explore the technical difference between ships.

 

I,e: Are some more armoured than others? Do others have stronger shields? Do some have far more fire-power? Etc...

 

The Black Lancers seem to be their own special unit. Though I wonder just what makes them special aside from their experience, comradeship and brute-force?

 

Or maybe it's just that. A cohesive unit is certainly more effective than a friable assortment of troops.

 

This is especially demonstrated in Kingdom.

 

So you have something to look forward to when you get to it in the future.

 

 

Yeah, I think that's just the case with Bittenfield and his unit. Though would have indeed been nice to see some additional info on the different ships, since some at least looked different. Well, unless they simply were different in appearances...

Heh, I knew from Sim's posting of this image back some days:

That the mountain folk would be playing a crucial role and I was pretty sure it would occur when I thought it would (which they did), but the manga's execution of building up tension still made it have an impact despite me pretty much expecting it (Shin foreshadowing it just a few pages earlier was like waving a giant flag ...).

 

This is one of the better manga's I've read when it comes to creating tension, tip of the hat to the creator.
