If I were to start watching Anime where do I begin?
My first was Angel beats so that could work. Though admittedly I had a lot of prior JRPG experience.

Well, Code Geass just went from somewhat decent into a complete trainwreck. Still enjoying it though
But all ze drama.
Coming out from LOTGH and jumping to Code Geass is like going from HBO TV Dramas to Saturday Morning Cartoons.
No wonder you're disappointed xD

For somebody who loved peace, tea, history and lazying about, Yang Wenli had balls the size of bricks.
I know you all hate me for "One Piece" but its season 7 is awesome. The escape from that Marine Strongold is silver. U must watch.

I've heard that legend of the Galactic heroes' biggest flaw is it's portrayal of religion.

Yes and no.
Yes as a political power.
No as an ideological apparatus.
Either way. The main theme is autocracy vs democracy.
Though I'd love an anime that deals with religious conflict on a political and ideological level.

Answer to the Mac problem^
Also, I'm loving Stein's Gate more than I thought I would. In fact, I don't think an anime has got to me this much since ... well a while now. I definitely have to write about this one.

I actually don't remember that much religion. It was mostly about autocracy vs democracy.
Sure it had a faction that were of religious beliefs, but not in the sense that one would expect.

Apparently Isi says it f*cks up at the end.
Looking forward to see your thoughts on that.
Earth cult.
Right, but that always just came across as a bunch of fanatics. They never delved deep into the subject.

I have no doubt with the way it's going now... but I'm actually kinda liking how restrictive it is to its own rules of time travel, but also how unforgiven it is.. in regards to its handling of drama and human relations, in a somewhat similar fashion to Clannad. It was actually on a list of anime shows that were recommended if one liked certain "films" as opposed to other anime. If I liked Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, or Groundhog Day, I'd be fond of this one. I can totally see why now -- The troubles of the main character scientist, is very reminiscent of Jim Carrey's character in Eternal Sunshine -- It's the insistent need of playing with forces beyond one's control, how the boundaries of physics, memories and time frames our reality without our consent and we are sometimes powerless to stop it. In that fashion, it actually reminded more of the Belgian-made film, Mr Nobody, which revolves around Jared Leto's character experiencing 3 different lives, with 3 different wives, based on measly tough decision a young child has to make.. It also quite literally takes the discussion of Chaos Theory and the Butterfly Effect into perspective, in relation to the narrative. It devolves around the idea of how a tiny butterfly, flapping its wings, can cause a great change (hurricane if you will) on the other side of the planet; The basic summarization. It's really quite fascinating. What I'm liking about this show; Is how it also shows the psychological damage that time travel can inflict on a human being. I urge you to watch some of the movies I mentioned as well btw. I think you might like those too.

Exactly why it's a flaw in "delving into religion."
But that was never the point with the Earth Cult.
LOTGH doesn't want to delve into religion.
Maybe because it's such a controversial subject and all...
So it uses it as a means to control people, which is what religion is infamous for.
Point in case, it's a stupid thing to call a 'flaw' when LOTGH makes no attempt to do anything with it nor alludes to trying.
If anything, Chewin pointed out one, and that is the representation of Phezzan as an autonomous state.
But anyway.
Now that I've answered this I'm gonna watch Lu Bu being a ****** and that brother of Lieu Bei being an even bigger ******.

I'll keep note of that.
But I can't promise anything. Though I'm not going to sh*t on a film's quality the reason why I just can't get into movies that aren't as long as LOTR or a series of films is that they're over before I get to enjoy any of the characters.
Or maybe I'm not watching good movies?
Still, I think it's a side effect of reading, watching long-ass series and gaming.
I had 90 hours to enjoy my company with SEES and other Social Links. With movies it's hardly over two. They might be well written, fleshed out and developed, but my personal enjoyment falls short a few dozen hours of interaction.
P.S
I read all that in FYMorgan's voice.
Congratulations on being awesome xD
But seriously now!
CAO CAO AWAITS!

Thanks for an actual answer. If you like Steins;Gate well..... i don't know anime like Steins;Gate. I'll just say watch Trust and Betrayal.

It seems to me that more people disliked the first half of Steins;Gate than the 2nd half.
I'll keep note of that.

These movies are challenging -- This means it'll require your full attention. Some of the best avant-garde movies; The ones that branches out from your average blockbuster and tries to do something different with its tools, be it either storytelling, framing or recording. Mr Nobody is almost 3 hours long -- While Eternal Sunshine is admittedly shorter, I can promise it'll keep you at the edge of the seat if you pay attention. They both have a lot in common with each other, and I can totally see some alliteration towards Stein's Gate with either.
