I watched the first 7 episodes or so of Monster a few years ago when I just got into anime and then dropped it. (I honestly don't even remember why)
I'll probably pick it back up somewhere in the future.

I forgot to say that both Naruto's and Luffy's dubber who seem to be one person is really irritating. Worst than Goku's (Japanese) voice actor!
Note: I watched Dragon Ball dubbed, watching One Piece subbed and will watch Naruto dubbed.

Well most people would recommend Monster to people who liked Death note or Code Geass. Truthfully, they don't have much in common except that Monster has a protagonist that is trying to stop an Antagonist for personal reasons. It's much longer than both and much better written but it is probably more boring because it literally has very little action.

How can we like something we haven't watched?
Regardless it's been on my list for a long time and I'll probably watch AFTER of inbetween my watch of HxH 2011.
And I seriously cannot wait. I really love good seinen.
As for Code Geass...
I love it.
Can't deny it has flaws.
But I love it lots.
Maybe it's Death Note syndrome seeing as it was like... my third anime ever xD

My favourite part of any anime are the conversations.
So good.

It's a thriller like Death Note but it isn't as focused on the mental battles between the main protagonist and antagonist.
It introduces a **** ton of characters and also lots of conpspiracies.

These movies are challenging -- This means it'll require your full attention. Some of the best avant-garde movies; The ones that branches out from your average blockbuster and tries to do something different with its tools, be it either storytelling, framing or recording. Mr Nobody is almost 3 hours long -- While Eternal Sunshine is admittedly shorter, I can promise it'll keep you at the edge of the seat if you pay attention. They both have a lot in common with each other, and I can totally see some alliteration towards Stein's Gate with either.
3 hours long?
Then I'll enjoy it.
And though I love thought provoking stuff... as long as it's not convoluted for the sake of being convoluted then I'm cool with it.

But when people compare the two it's on very superficial grounds.
A: They both have sisters they care about.
B: They both are good at war
However, when you see these comparisons discussed it's like they're making profound discoveries in character parallels and all that b*llocks.
Do you know that people honestly believe that Reinhard did all that he did JUST for his sister? Then proceed to make those weird-ass comparisons.
Ugh.
