Another episode of the rolling girls another day wondering why nobody is watching this.

I'm watching it actually. Though it hasn't really sunk its claws in me yet. It's nice and entertaining, but it hasn't wowed me so far.

Understandable. I was pretty much hooked from the first episode though admittedly it's not exactly deep.

Depth in regards to plot does very little for me in general actually. Actually I usually don't care about plot at all. One of the most important factor that differentiates the animes I like from the animes I love are the characters. And the most important thing about the characters is that they have to be likeable. Rolling girls' cast is likeable, but none of them have grabbed me by the collar and yelled "LOVE ME YOU MORON" yet. I feel like so far they're good but not great. There's some potential for good development later on I guess.

Art and animation are great, but so far the rest of the elements that compose the show range from good to average. Then again I've gotten really picky over the years, and my tastes are rarely perfectly in line with other people's.

Oh i'm the same I love strong characters and it's one of the most important things for me and so far they are goodish. Not the best or worst i've seen. What really catches me though is unique worlds and that's what caught me with the rolling girls.

Rolling girls just didn't stand out enough when I picked shows to follow. Doesn't mean that I'll never watch it or so, only that it will be finished when I do watch it! Did have plenty of shows this season that peaked my interest to some degree. But glad to hear it's doing well enough!

Admittedly that's the shows own dumb fault. It's tagged as slice of life and nothing else.

Yeah, if it had been part of maybe one other genre or so I'd have picked it up from the start. Ah well! If it manages to remain good until the end I just happen to have a good finished show on my hands in a few weeks!

I meant to comment on the Samurai X thing, the first 15 minutes or so were pretty much wall to wall amazing as far as anime goes. I also watched like 5 episodes of the TV show by accident thinking that was what was so high rated. Eventually I was just like.. er... no.

And yeah I am sort of surprised that there hasn't been more interest in Monster but having tried it I was just kind of bored.

Then you watched the wrong one. Trust and Betrayal is the one that's great. I haven't watched the main TV series but I'll stay away from it.

Monster is one of those series that I was expecting to be boring but it wasn't boring. It was very exciting all the way through, except for like 3 episodes but I excuse that since it is a74 episode show.

Man, you have no idea how stupidly detailed some of the art is.

 

Actually... I can give you an example, it's SORT of spoilery... but not. Basically what you'll see is a huge-ass monster but you won't know what's it about, why it's there and what it's doing.

It's the most constant thing about Berserk and really the only guarantee I can give.

 

The art will always get better.

 

There are only a few other manga that can compare to berserk's art.

 

Chewin's had a treat art-wise lately.

 

He's gone from Vagabond to Berserk.

 

That's like going from Rin to Saber.

Black Lagoon has the most effective use of lolis ever.

 

Despite its wacky out-of-this-world action scenes there's a dark and tragic depth to it.

 

Those two lil' bastards just personify that xD
