Ok i'm finally starting on LOTGH. About damn time. Guess I better start on the two movies.

I'd go straight with the series if I were you.
If you ARE gonna start with a movie, just go with the Sea of Stars one.
The other is a recap of the first two episodes plus some extra fluff explaining who the f*ck Lapp is and Yang's relationship with Jessica Edwards.

Code Geass writing takes a dump in Season 2 (the writers were literally making things up as they go), but its entertainment value is really high.
