Is Jormungand worth watching?
Yes for the gun porn and action and most characters are quite fun.
But don't try to think about the story too much. The big reveal is retarded. The soundtrack has a couple downright eargasm pieces!

A show about a loli dying who later reappears as a ghost to have her wish granted so that she can go to the afterlife, wasn't sad for you?
What happened to Yandere Angel?
(I'm joking of course. Haven't seen the show myself).
Lolis dying is truly a sad thing and I have seen plenty anime were lolis die
.
Anohana simply didn't do it for me.
Damn, now you've reminded me of dead lolis.
Time to post a few lolis to cure the pain.

Ah yeah, one thing I'll absolutely give Jormungand was a solid OST

I hear ya. Being forced to read a book and expect to give a damn doesn't always go hand in hand. Been in that position myself.
It was a very good book though.
But it's hard to concentrate when your friend next to you is whispering
"I bet Hassan will need some Sudocrem."
Or
"Screw the lewb I'm going in dry."
I can be an utter bastard sometimes xD

I've read Ender's Game (in preparation for the movie) just listening to Cul-De-Sac over and over again ... and when I went to see the movie, it wasn't the blatant changes from the book that annoyed me the most, it was that there was no Cul-De-Sac.
Damn I love this track, also Bookman, Jormungand and Borderland. The other tracks aren't quite as catchy on their own, but played to good effect during the show (oh R ...).
Anime is pretty solid for as long as you don't try to apply common sense to Koko's masterplan. It actually tries to tangle with a couple pretty sensitive issues (arms trade, morals of war, cruelty during conflicts, but isn't very consistent or thorough with it, so it mostly just works to create a specific mood or set piece for the action. But anyone who likes watching action movies can tell that you don't need excellent story to get great action, that's what Jormungand is like. It mostly works through the action and the characters ... and then there's the gun porn.

I also watched ano-hana, or maybe half of it.. did not necessarily find it the same sadness level of Clannad. I'm not honestly sure why it got rather highly rated in several areas, aside from the fact that it certainly wasn't embarrassing or anything like that.
Probably because Clannad is far more grounded in its... well, "sad" levels?
Dunno...
I assume you mean Afterstory here where the sad levels just hit a high so tall you'll need to float on your own tears to find it.
What I loved about Anohana though is its theme on acceptance and moving on. Though Clannad plays on that, it ultimately tarnishes it at the end. And though I love its ending with all my heart, I can honestly say the "True" end can feel contrived sometimes.
You have tons of motifs too that play throughout the series. Hell, that Poppo dude is like, the most awesome thing in there. The dude's always travelling yet always comes back to the same spot. It doesn't force it in your face but it's there and speaks volumes about the character.
There's tons of sh*t like that which I find great.
And it's only 11 episodes. That's ultra short anime.
And yeah.
You only watched half of it.
The sadness is really at the end.

Well, it sounds like maybe you have a similar take.. Clannad being the heavy hitter, with the ending and all.
It's funny you mentioned Poppo because as I was writing that he came to mind. He's the kind of character that takes pressure off everyone and that's great, it's kind of this consistently even tone which made it sort of consistently engaging in ways that Clannad was not perhaps. I feel like I know a lot of people that really gravitate towards those types.
I feel like ya gotta big bang to get to that extra level though. It's a subtle difference between the form of emotional expression and actual expression expression, and having read the ending sinopsis, Ano hana seems a bit fizzly.
Honestly I see this pattern repeatedly, the stuff that kind of ripsaws back and forth but feels a bit shallow and the stuff that is aimless but thunderous. Maybe I could see them as being similar in enjoyment for different reasons... hard to beat Clannad's ending though... that's really the difference maker to me.
Ah KLK gifs.. brings back memories!

A synopsis won't do it.
A synopsis of Clannad's ending won't do it either.
Hell, a synopsis of most endings won't do sh*t.
But I won't force you to it though, I'm just sayin'
Like... what made Clannad's ending emotional is a combination of an assortment of things. Music, cinematic whatevermography and sh*t like that.
Hell, is Mordin's Sacrifice in ME3 nearly as emotional if I say "he went up into the tower and blew up?"

Ugh... Yuki.
The rest of the characters are great, and the story is so fun and twisted! You'll love it :-)
Lots of feels too.
lol wtf sim?
F*cking hell.
Page 400 sim is a loser.
Look at all this stupid stuff
No wonder Geth never talked to me back then.
Yeah now he just ridicules you endlessly.
Best track
Koko is awesome.
And so loco.
Jorgemund is meh.
Didn't leave any lasting impression.
Koko is meh and her plan (as well as the plot) is retarded. Too bad, as it did have potential to be really interesting.
But it's in some way like Akame Ga Kill.

Certainly. But I am impervious to your feels and captivation of 11 year olds with perky B cups. I bid you good day, sir!
Khaynees called it before Geth did.

There will be blood.
Unless... I can think off an alternative.

Hmm legend of the galactic heroes can get pretty boring. The animation is incredibly dated, I think even DBZ is more fluid in terms of animation with two times the episodes.
The classical music during space battles is just very weird and reduces the intensity of the scenes. The Space Battles themselves are the most boring part of the movies and first two episodes.
The conquest movie put me to sleep. The animation was just bad.
The overture movie was great and it was better than the first two episodes of the show. It was 30 minutes longer than the first two episodes and added a lot more scenes with actual good animation and backstory to characters. The character interactions are the best part of the show so far.
Guest_simfamUP_*
Make sure you're not making this mistake.

And yeah if you find it so boring that you'd go to sleep then just leave it now.
It's not for you.

Gotten into Berserk, and you guys were right, it's bloody awesome!
Currently on the arc with the tower. Enjoying it, though not much the antagonists. The priest is just needlessly evil and Farnese is quite a poor character and doesn't interest me at all.
Hoping for it to be over soon.
Farnese just got introduced. Seriously, the growth of and characterisation of that character is immense.
But yeah.
Berserk's main and only "bad guy" is Griffith.
The most of the rest are devices for the themes, moods and atmosphere to grow on.
Like Priest dude. No substance but still a good character for the plot
There to show you how f*cked Religion can be, darker side of humanity etc... etc...
