You know what, f*ck it, I'll put the Berserk anime on hold for now and start watching Gintama. 

 

The stuff I've seen so far just seems right up my alley

I'm reallyyyyy not awake right now but good afternoon friends. X3 I binged a fair amount this weekend (specifically last night hence the tired part), at least clearing up til Master of Swords 1. I guess I have to chuckle cause as I was explaining it to Isi, my binging consists of 50% actually reading the series and 50% safhdahfaf'ing at him about various thing and making him put up with my ongoing speculations. Still enjoying taking my time with it, looking back over older chapters and letting my brain just ponder things as I go. As I explained to him last night, it's kind of amusing/alarming/I don't even know having this one little drop spoiled in the ocean of the Eclipse cause thanks to a certain someone's hype train, I know things get much worse than that but the not knowing side of things is both exhilarating and terrifying at the same time with all this buildup going on.

 

We're actually planning on watching the OVAs after I've cleared the Eclipse and had that rollercoaster of emotions calmed down.

 

Also Cassandra's disgusted noises really is one of my all time favorite reaction shots now.

 

ETA: Are we really up to chapter 400 or is that counting the prologue chapters? I ask cause the site I'm reading it on only has up to 337 and if it's missing a ton of chapters, I'm going to have to search elsewhere to properly catch up once the time comes.

So, because I'm just all around mentally wiped today, I've decided it's time to take it easy and start working on Black Lagoon since I haven't watched anything in ages. That and Rex's enthusiasm inspired me. Not sure how far I'll make it today since I still kind of want to get some D3 time in but at least as far as the first episode goes, I'm enjoying it well enough. Nice to finally confirm after being told repeatedly that I will adore Revy.

Finished Toradora -- A short compendiary of my feelings about it can at best be described as such: It's an intriguing romantic-drama that treats its characters with care and respect, and subtlety avoids the usual trappings with the worst of the genre. The chemistry is nice and it understands some of the most engaging traits of a good love story. The chase, a bona fide understanding of human interaction and chemistry, how who we fall in love with isn't always up to our conscience mind to decide. What I do miss and liked about Clannad was the chance to see the growing relationships develop to the next level. Get a grander insight on what happens "After Story" after the guy got the girl. A minor issue that ultimately doesn't hold it back from being really, really good. Hopefully there are more animes like that out there, but I'd have to see for myself at some other point. Disregarding that I felt the developing love story was on par with that of Steins Gate, whereas in this case it was more or less central to the narrative, and in Steins Gate's case it was a means of providing layers to the characters involved.

 

I've already written a lot about Stein's Gate but I feel there's a lot to say about Toradora as well.

Yup! Dub is the way I'm going, Sim. :3 I normally like to poll how everyone feels regarding dubs and such (even though I usually try to go for the Japanese version myself) but for as long as I've known about Black Lagoon, the general consensus has always been the dub's the way to go. Kind of glad for it currently since it lets me just listen and such right now. Definitely going to agree as previously said that Dutch's VA is fab.

 

Also regarding Gintama: I definitely want to go back to it for sure, I just need to find a site with subs that have some kind of shading since Crunchyroll's kill my old eyes with the first episode being white on white with no outline on the text.

Waiting for that reveal myself as well. So far I've only seen glimpses and small hints. Episode 54 had one.
