Episode 7. Pretty great. Yang's plan worked. The infiltration was successful, the rosen ritter are pretty strong. I find it funny that they just told the Imperial soldiers to stop fighting even when the Imperial forces outnumbered them and they did.  

Yang is a pretty cool and chill guy and you can see that he was saddened to use Thor's hammer.

Also, I don't think that the show said why Yang joined the military. If he really didn't like it I don't know why he joined it.

His father was a merchant who died and left him with a ton of debts since what he sold (antiques) turned out to be all fakes.

 

This was when Yang was around 13.

 

He wanted to study history but couldn't pay the schools.

 

So he had no choice but to join the Military.

 

His original goal was the laze it out. Be a whateverrankwhatever and just study and learn history.

 

Great idea until they cut the course to cut costs.

Ah, I'm just going with the official sub for now ("Manga Entertainment -a starz company-" sounds official anyway). It's on youtube.

Anyway I've watched the first couple episodes and it seems pretty good. I'm a fan of these sort of idyllic slice of life anime and this has been hyped as one of the best ever, with the series taken as a whole. Which is a lot to live up to... but wouldn't it be a miracle if it did? 

Yeah, that's pretty official. Though I've never bothered to compare them to the Nozomi DVD releases. Pretty sure the ones on youtube are the "TV" version, because every now and then you get "fade to black" moments which aren't present on the DVD release IIRC.

Also, the 3rd season (Origination) never actually worked for me on YT. It just says that the videos aren't available even though there are entries for all of them with thumbnails and everything. Might have to find another source for these.

The series really comes together in the final season IMO. Everything that comes before it is great too, but it probably wouldn't get as much praise if it wasn't for Origination. But then again, Origination wouldn't be as great if it wasn't built upon the foundation of the first 2 seasons. So yeah, it's really the sort of series that must be taken as whole.

That would be the optimal solution.

They're too distorted with filters to tell if they are the same voice anyway.

 

But if they just had to change it, I'm just saying the voice director could've tried to think this through better.

Episode 8. Hmm, so oberstein is a cunning guy. He wants to conspire with Reinhard to help him take down the Emperor. Kircheis doesn't trust him and neither does Reinhard, but Reinhard would like to use him.

Oberstein doesn't like the Empire because they took his eyes.

Reinhard declines the promotion to get Oberstein, and the emperor sees no problem with his dynasty ending and being replaced with a new one.

Pretty entertaining.

Ahh... wait, just fades for commercial break or actual cut content? 

As far as I can tell, it's commercial breaks. I watched the first 2 episodes on YT a little while ago and there wasn't any content cut from them. Well except the end credits which have been greatly shortened and the little animation is completely gone. You can find it pretty easily though:



Also keep in mind that if the 3rd season somehow works for you on YT, they put the OVA at the end, but it's supposed to come between season 2 and 3.

Yo, so in iDOLM@STER episode 15 there's a funny scene where Haruka smacks herself in the face with a box lid.

Chihayas reaction is priceless.

Which was inspired from the same thing happening to her voice actor.

So yeah. I just wanted to post that.
