The ending in Death Note helped but I still left that show with a bit of disappointment due to just how weak the last 10 episodes before the end were

Spoiler
News of Berserk?
Oh my sweet Summer child.
There is no news.
And there will never be news.
You will grow old and withered, until the cold of winters past nears its grasp as you die in slumber.
Then.
And only then.
Will Guts disembark that f*cking boat.

Well, then, did you watch it?
I have it, I could send it to you.
Nah, I haven't watched it. I tried Kissanime where it was broken and would work, most of the results on Google were removed by the whatever place that removes things because of copyright infringement and Youtube only seemed to have it in Japanese without subtitles or in Spanish Subtitles.
I've started episode 1 of Date A Live II, because I figured the OVA probably wouldn't be too important anyway. I'd appreciate it if you sent it to me though. ![]()

I give up trying to find the Date A Live OVA in English subtitles, I'll just read up on it on Wikipedia.
I think I've actually had Season 2 spoiled for me, at least something major in it, thanks to what some jackass on youtube set as their thumbnail for the Date A Live 2 Encore(it kept popping up on both Google and Youtube when I was searching for the first Date A Live OVA).
SpoilerIt's not the first time I've had the final act of something spoiled by a jackass (I'm looking at you Batman: Arkham City).
Whatever, on to Date A Live II!
That's specific to the encore OVA. Don't worry your not spoilt.

I'd say that having a weak overarching plot is a lot more damaging than lack of male characters or main character deaths.
It isn't when that isn't the point of the show at all.
It is when the story wants to give you an overarching arc and fails at it.
But when form the start it's clearly an episodic adventure...
Then yeah.
No.
Vicious and his own arc is just Spike's past catching up to him.
Again... characters.
That's why I mentioned PMMM and a lack of a male cast.
It's a stupid flaw for a reason: the point of PMMM is to poke at the Magical GIRL genre.
There is no point in adding Magical BOYS just for the sake of it.

But the overarching plot was there and it was focused on much more than any other episode throughout the show. Why have it for 5 or 6 episodes if you're not going to flesh it out?
GITS: Stand Alone Complex is also episodic with an overarching plot just like Bebop, but it gives like 10 - 13 episodes for he main plot.
I'd count it as a flaw for having it but not fleshing it out.

Thank you, Liam! That makes me feel a lot better, I was pretty p***** and worried about that.
Okay, I'll PM you with a link when I get to my computer.
Oh, that spoiler, that's the Second OVA, did you watch the first one?
Thank you, I appreciate it.
Nah, I couldn't find one that worked and was in English subtitles. I could probably find it dubbed, but I'd hate to do that since I've watched the first twelve episodes and the first episode of Date A Live II in Japanese.

Ok, I'm watching Free! And dear God in heaven, is it pretty. I sincerely think that this show has the best animation for water that I have ever seen.

GITS's case is a flaw.
Because it clearly isn't about the characters.
Episodic episodes serve to nothing and are clearly overshadowed by the superior Laughing Man Case.
That's why 2nd GIG improved on that and was better.
Bebop is all about the characters.
And the "overarching plot" is there for the characters who drive the narrative forward and what the narrative is centred around.
That plot is there so that we see how Spike's past is catching up to him.
There we go.
It's simple.

Okay, then get ready for both OVAs, but, actually I believe it would be fine if you watched both OVAs before season 2 considering they are adapted from the same book.
