The ending in Death Note helped but I still left that show with a bit of disappointment due to just how weak the last 10 episodes before the end were

Nah, I haven't watched it. I tried Kissanime where it was broken and would work, most of the results on Google were removed by the whatever place that removes things because of copyright infringement and Youtube only seemed to have it in Japanese without subtitles or in Spanish Subtitles.

 

I've started episode 1 of Date A Live II, because I figured the OVA probably wouldn't be too important anyway. I'd appreciate it if you sent it to me though.

I give up trying to find the Date A Live OVA in English subtitles, I'll just read up on it on Wikipedia.

I think I've actually had Season 2 spoiled for me, at least something major in it, thanks to what some jackass on youtube set as their thumbnail for the Date A Live 2 Encore (it kept popping up on both Google and Youtube when I was searching for the first Date A Live OVA).

It had clock girl in a wedding dress next to Shido. I get the feeling that they are getting married or are doing a mock wedding to set clock girl free.

It's not the first time I've had the final act of something spoiled by a jackass (I'm looking at you Batman: Arkham City).

It isn't when that isn't the point of the show at all.

 

It is when the story wants to give you an overarching arc and fails at it.

 

But when form the start it's clearly an episodic adventure...

Vicious and his own arc is just Spike's past catching up to him.

That's why I mentioned PMMM and a lack of a male cast.

 

It's a stupid flaw for a reason: the point of PMMM is to poke at the Magical GIRL genre.

 

There is no point in adding Magical BOYS just for the sake of it.

But the overarching plot was there and it was focused on much more than any other episode throughout the show. Why have it for 5 or 6 episodes if you're not going to flesh it out?

GITS: Stand Alone Complex is also episodic with an overarching plot just like Bebop, but it gives like 10 - 13 episodes for he main plot.

I'd count it as a flaw for having it but not fleshing it out.

Okay, then get ready for both OVAs, but, actually I believe it would be fine if you watched both OVAs before season 2 considering they are adapted from the same book.
