crunchyroll.com is free, but if you want to catch new episodes of shows you need to be a premium member, which is not free. There's also ads, but not for premium members.

gogoanime.com is free, and there's no premium membership like with crunchyroll. I haven't been using it long though, so I dunno if it's got a very good selection. There are ads.

animefave.net is the one I usually use. It's free, and it seems to buffer really quickly for some reason. No ads either. They'll also get new episodes of shows pretty quickly. As far as it's selection goes, I haven't browsed much, but I hear good things.

Code Geass was about robots? I mean sure the mechs were only there to sell toys and all, but still... The series was not really about robots.
