Some Geth posted the theme song to it in the "What are you listening to?" thread. It made me want to check it out.

And it's one of the best fun-oriented manga I've read! (still got to take on One Piece some time)

Smart man.

Anyway, what's Magi about in terms of a plot summary, and does it come close to the adventure feel One Piece's storytelling has? (excluding Fishman Island ofc).

Can't compare it to One Piece, as I haven't read that still - but the plot's all about this Aladdin lad going dungeon-crawling with his buddy Alibaba. Yes, you guessed it, it's an One Thousand and One Nights setting.

Afterwards, it seems Aladdin is either destined to be king or choose one, and his shy genie partner Ugo is of help. As is his magic carpet and all sorts of other relics that can be found in magic/mysterious dungeons that are scattered across the world. There's certainly a sense of adventure.

The setting really works, and in the manga, the world really feels pretty fun yet believably middle-eastern.

Also, Aladdin as a character is fully likeable, has somewhat badass moments in the manga and gets more interesting comrades as the plot thickens. The main villain thus far has been a pretty interesting snob as well. I love villains who have a psychological complex that makes them (him) seem vulnerable.

So wait, I have a question.

I haven't watched either of them (save for a few minutes of one of them), but are Steins;Gate and Chaos;Head somehow related? I remember reading that one is like a sequel to the other.

They're not directly related but rather originally (Visual Novel) games by the same company.

Chaos;Head is nothing noteworthy. Steins;Gate is much much better.

Robotics;Notes is the third one, and not all that great (also).

:(...And here I was planning to watch it after seeing it on FUNimation's website.

Oic. Well Stein's Gate looks interesting.

I watched a little of Chaos;Head and I wasn't all together taken in by it, but that may be because the FUNimation dub isn't their best work, and the pacing was strange.

Magi has some nipple piercing action. That's all I need to know before I watch it.

Yeah, all of this.

But to compare it to One Piece, I would say it does everything right like One Piece does.

I always liked how the first few DBZ movies all went the same way.

Big ultimate evil no one's heard of before

Has three main minions (pretty one, weird one, big tough stupid one)

Minions and ultimate evil beat everyone up

Goku uses Spirit Bomb

the end

For some unexplainable reason your post made me recall when Android 13 punched Goku in his two peas, and a carrot

But still..

As to One Piece i know it's cheesy but after the Punk Hazard Arc i'd want to see T.Law join the Strawhats.
