O_O Well. I wasn't expecting Hansel and Gretel to be in the Second Barrage's primer episode. Tsar, you weren't kidding about the nightmare fuel then, from what I know of them on rumor alone.
This is going to be fun. Will update once I get through their arc! Buuuut before I sneak off again, a final say that season 1 was definitely very enjoyable. I do like the fact that there is a good amount of emotional stuff laced around the action, but a lot of it is done rather subtly,

We need to understand that unlike you and me bro.. Chewin is just not as amazing and flawless
Yup. I can barely keep up with you two.
Do not read 'TOO much' into that comparison. In a lot of ways, my comparison were more or less made to draw a perspective between the anime's approach to comedy, in a similar fashion to shows like Breaking Bad.
Ah yes, I completely understood what you meant when you referred to Breaking Bad; in the show managing to convey a range of emotional instensity within the story through different means.
Breaking Bad does draw a fine line in incorporating important elements to the enjoyment of suspense on a meta-emotional level--wherein we as the viewer display an array of emotions based on our feelings while watching the show, which in turn makes us feel in more competent. Experiencing several of the characters' metamorphosis from their initial appearance into their eventual one, all while experiencing all manner of emotional responses serves as a nice reflection upon our own, making us feel humane. It gives it a sense of eudaimonia, I find. Experience stress is often a more prominent feature in that regard, but humor works jsut as well, especially when a lot of thematic materials revolve around more 'darker' aspects.
Sorry I wasn't more specific. And yes, I'll make sure to watch it with dub.

Yeah I like the subtle emotional atmosphere of the series alongside the dakka dakka.
Be sure to stick around for Roberta's Blood Trail after you watch the series.

Yare yare...
Uncultured plebs wouldn't understand.
...
Seriously though.
Yes. Lots of episodes... but unlike most long-running anime, LOTGH is all narrative, yes, 110 episodes of story and not a minute wasted.
It's still a daunting task.
But it's a labour of love.
Much like watching Gintama.
Hell, I've rewatched it twice and now I'm going for a 148 episode anime.
When I started a year ago I wouldn't go past 40 xD

Once I finish the Breaker I will.
Unfortunately it hasn't grabbed me like Kingdom did.

Nope.
Not because it's bad.

It's good though, don't get me wrong. And I'll read it to the end.
But yeah, err... before Kingdom, the only mangas that hooked me so much that I had to read it non-stop were Vinland Saga and Berserk.
