In all honesty, the Shirou in UBW so far has at best reached some level of apathy with me. I don't care about him to any extent. No dislike, no like.. nothing. I've been told by both bro and House that the Shirou in HF is more likely to garner some approval from me. Hopefully the second half of UBW can at least make me care

While I have continuously stated that I'm not a fan of the more "saccharine heroes", I can't help but appreciate the level of nuanced portrayal Ufotable have done in regards to Shirou as a character, since he and Rin are the strongest characters so far and I love how they both balance each other out in the narrative. That bridge scene was a vital moment in terms for establishing a "character evaluation" for Shirou and his ideals, which is why I am curious from where it will go from there.
If it doesn't reach anywhere and just stays in some sort of limbo, then me being disappointed is an understatement.
